"Nature Needs Our Nurture"

Pontevedra Fire Station personnel headed by SFO4 Sheryl F Zapanta, Acting Municipal Fire Marshal, conducted Mangrove Planting and Coastal Clean up in Brgy. Recreo, Pontevedra Negros Occidental, participated by the barangay officials and residents dated 28 March 2026.

Mangroves are not merely trees, they serve as a natural barrier for our beaches against storm surges and erosion. Planting 500 seedlings is such a great help in restoring the greenliness and cleanliness of our shores and thus provides shelter to our marine life.

Today, we tidied, planted, and fortified our beach, with the help of the community, together we will achieve a cleaner and greener shoreline tomorrow.

𝑭𝒊𝒓𝒆 𝑺𝒂𝒇𝒆𝒕𝒚 𝒐𝒏 𝑫𝒆𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒅

Pontevedra Fire Station personnel headed by SFO4 Sheryl F Zapanta, Acting Municipal Fire Marshal, attended the 1st Quarter Barangay Assembly Meeting of Brgy. Miranda, Pontevedra, Negros Occidental dated 28 March 2026.

The Barangay Assembly meeting is a compulsory 𝙗𝙞-𝙖𝙣𝙣𝙪𝙖𝙡 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 as stipulated by the Local Government Code aimed at fostering openness, accountability, and civic engagement in local governance. During the meeting ,fire safety measures, the mandatory use of Body Worn Camera (BWC) during the conduct of every fire safety inspection and formulation of Community Fire Auxiliary Group (CFAG) are key topics tackled to instill awareness to the public.

The discussion helps enlighten the crowd about the process of "𝙉𝙤 𝘾𝙖𝙢𝙚𝙧𝙖, 𝙉𝙤 𝙄𝙣𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣" Policy for transparency and accountability purposes based on DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2026-001, and lastly introducing the importance of the Community Fire Auxiliary Group (CFAG) for quicker and effective response.

Pontevedra Fire Station personnel headed by SFO4 Sheryl F Zapanta, Acting Municipal Fire Marshal, conducted Community Fire Auxiliary Group (CFAG) training in Brgy. 2, Pontevedra Negros Occidental, participated by the barangay officials and barangay tanod dated 24 March 2026.

Building a more resilient community and Equipping our local heroes with the knowledge to act before professional help arrives are the goals of our activity.

𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗔𝘂𝘅𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 (𝗖𝗙𝗔𝗚) training, equips locals with knowledge of fundamental firefighting techniques such as proper hose rolling, hose coupling and instilling the importance of bucket relay for quicker emergency response in times of fire incidents. The said training helps efficiently saves lives, minimizes property damage, and fosters a proactive safety culture by bridging the gap between fire events and the arrival of our fire fighters.
