Blaan people believes that when the moon turns dark in an instant, (Lunar Eclipse) a huge snake called Blakaw swallowed the moon. In a tale, a young Boy slayed the snake which devoured the moon and saved the Blaan community from the terror of total darkness caused by the ferocious Blakaw.

Embroidered apparel made from Landan NHS Cultural heritage Learning Center carries these stories (tulen) through needles and threads as a medium of spreading the rich stories of the past, aiming to rekindle the beautiful yet forgotten tales that our Blaan ancestors used to enjoy and reminisce. Designs of these kind are called SAUL NUN TULEN (apparels with tales).

Available at Landan NHS CHLC.
