A Committee Meeting of the Committee on Barangay Affairs, conducted by Councilor Jose Niño S. Zamora II.

A productive dialogue was conducted regarding the ongoing Flood Control Riprapping Project along the Cabangan Oas River.

Affecting Residents, local officials, and concerned stakeholders discussed the project's progress, benefits, and its role in mitigating flood risks and protecting nearby communities.

The activity served as an opportunity to address concerns, gather feedback, and strengthen cooperation among all parties involved to ensure the successful implementation of the project for the safety and welfare of the community.

COMMITTEE HEARING UPDATE

Councilor Jose Niño S. Zamora II attended the Committee Hearing of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Albay – Committee on Barangay Affairs, chaired by Hon. Board Member Milagros B. Bal, on June 1, 2026.

Presented and deliberated during the hearing were:

Municipal Ordinance No. 012-092, s. 2026 – Barangay Excellence and Performance Incentive Program (BEPIP)

Municipal Ordinance No. 012-093, s. 2026 – Institutionalizing the Grant of Recognition and Incentives to Barangay Officials who have served three (3) consecutive terms

The ordinances were discussed and reviewed with valuable recommendations from representatives of the Provincial Legal Office, represented by Atty. May A. Altavano; the Provincial Budget Office, represented by Mr. Jose S. Ebonete; and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) - Provincial Office, represented by Mr. Rhaul H. Rempillo to further strengthen their provisions and ensure compliance with applicable laws and policies.

The Municipality of Polangui continues to uphold excellence in barangay governance and recognize the dedication and service of its barangay officials.
