THE BEE SMOKER
Bee smoker is a tool used by Beekeepers to manage bees safety. It produces cool smoke that helps calm bees by interrupting their communication and making them less defensive. Here is how it works
Mechanism: The smoket consist of a metal canister, a bellow to pump air in to the fire and a nozzle to direct the smoke toward the bees. The fuel used is typically natural and non toxic,
How smoke calms bees:
1. Disrupts Pheromones: when bees feel threatened, they release alarm pheromones to alert the colony. The smoke masks these pheromones, preventing the bees from coordinating an attack
2 Stimulate fire: Smoke triggers an instinct in beed that a fire might be nearby. Tjis causes them to prepare by consuming honey incase they need to flee, which makes them sluggish and less likely to sting
3. Bee Removal use: during bee removal, particularly when handling hive or accessing a wild colony,, the smoker is employed to keep the bees calm. These allows beekeeper or pest control expert to open the hive or access to colony without provoking an aggressive reaction from the bees.
