Earth Day 2026 | Theme: โ€œOur Power, Our Planet"

The Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) of Binanuaanan High School proudly joins the global celebration of Earth Day by leading our native tree planting and No-to-Plastic waste campaigns.

Through these initiatives, we empower our fellow learners to take action in restoring nature, reducing waste, and protecting our environment for future generations.

Earth day, everyday, because it is our shared responsibility in preserving and protecting our Planet Earth.๐ŸŒŽ๐Ÿ’š๐ŸŒณ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿชด

At 8:07 AM Philippine Time (8:07 PM EDT), the Artemis II Orion crew module safely splashed down in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of San Diego, California.

Astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christian Koch, and Jeremy Hansen are back on Earth after their historic lunar flyby!

Thatโ€™s us! As the sun rises over the Philippines, our country is now visible in the live camera feed from the II Orion spacecraft! Say hello to the crew!

We can also see the massive landmass of Australia, Severe Typhoon , which is moving towards Guam, and the other two tropical cyclones in the Southern Pacific Ocean.

The first people the Artemis II crew will encounter upon returning to Earth will be U.S. Navy sailors.

The recovery dive medical team, Lt. Cmdr. Jesse Wang, Senior Chief Hospital Corpsman Laddy Aldridge, Chief Hospital Corpsman Vlad Link, and Hospital Corpsman 1st Class Steve Kapala, will be responsible for opening the Orion capsule after splashdown. They will conduct initial medical checks on the astronauts and assist them in exiting the spacecraft safely and smoothly.

Each team member is assigned to provide one-on-one support to Christina Koch, Jeremy Hansen, Reid Wiseman, and Victor Glover. Preparing for this role has taken years of coordinated training, ensuring they are ready to serve as the first medical responders inside the capsule.

The Artemis Program takes the centerstage today as NASA's goal of returning humans to the Moon after more than 50 years. But, what's really with the name Artemis?

In Greek mythology, Artemis is the twin sister of Apollo and the goddess of the Moon, hunting, and nature.

Often portrayed as independent and protective, Artemis symbolizes qualities that align with NASAโ€™s goals for sustainable exploration. While the Apollo program explored near the Moonโ€™s equator, the Artemis program aims to reach the south pole, studying shadowed craters and new terrain.

Her association with renewal and protection reflects NASAโ€™s commitment to long-term exploration, international collaboration, and landing the first woman on the Moon.
