COL ROMEO N BAUTISTA JR. III INF (GSC) PA, Acting Brigade Commander, 602nd Infantry Brigade, together with LTC ERWIN JAY E DUMAGHAN INF (GSC) PA, Commanding Officer, 40th Infantry Battalion, engaged in dialogues with Local Chief Executives (LCEs) and Election Officers (EOs) within the unit’s Area of Operations to discuss the prevailing situation and strengthen coordination during the conduct of the 2026 BARMM Parliamentary Elections.

COL BAUTISTA likewise held a dialogue with the GPH-MILF Joint Peace and Security Team (JPST) Quick Response Team, currently positioned at the unit's headquarters for monitoring and immediate coordination. He emphasized the importance of timely information-sharing, clear communication, and close coordination among security and peace stakeholders to ensure a prompt and appropriate response to developments on the ground.

These engagements reinforced coordination among the AFP, local authorities, election officials, JPST, and other stakeholders supporting the GPH-MILF peace and normalization process, including OPAPRU, contributing to the continued promotion of peace, stability, and security within the communities throughout the electoral period.

As the 2026 Bangsamoro Parliamentary Elections take place today, the 40th Infantry Battalion continues to perform its security duties within its Area of Operations (AO) to help ensure a peaceful, orderly and credible election.

Security personnel are strategically deployed in coordination with the COMELEC, PNP, local government units, and other stakeholders, with emphasis on safeguarding voters, election personnel, and the integrity of the electoral process.

The presence of security forces aims to provide a secure environment where every voter can freely and safely exercise their right to vote. The unit continues to monitor potential security threats, maintain close coordination with local authorities, and respond promptly when necessary.

The 40th Infantry Battalion remains committed to protecting the people, maintaining peace and order, and supporting the conduct of a safe, peaceful, and credible electoral process.
