10 OCTOBER 2026 // ๐Ÿšจ CHOKING FIRST AID AWARENESS ๐Ÿšจ

Knowing what to do during a choking emergency can save a life!

The universal sign of choking is clutching the throat with one or both hands. If a person is conscious but unable to speak, breathe, or cough effectively, immediate first aid is essential.

โœ… Encourage coughing if the person can cough forcefully.
โœ… For severe choking in adults and children over one year old, give 5 back blows followed by 5 abdominal thrusts.
โœ… Call for emergency assistance and continue first aid until the obstruction is cleared or the victim becomes unresponsive.

Remember: Stay calm, act quickly, and know the proper first aid techniques. Your knowledge can make a difference between life and death!
