MAY 20, 2026- The recently concluded Quarterly TB Caravan was successfully held today at the Municipal Gym of Peñablanca, catering to approximately 200 patients from different barangays of the municipality.

Through the activity, patients were able to avail free Chest X-ray services for early detection and screening of Tuberculosis. Out of the total patients catered, 15 individuals were referred for GeneXpert testing and are currently awaiting results.

This initiative was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Cagayan Valley Center for Health Development (CVCHD) and the Rural Health Unit–Peñablanca, spearheaded by our very own MHO, Dr. Jane Frances D. Taguinod together with the TB Coordinator, Ms. Ira Kimberly Acacio.

The RHU Peñablanca remains committed in strengthening tuberculosis prevention, early detection, and access to quality healthcare services for every Peñablancaños.

𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗧𝗨𝗟𝗜 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 ✨

The Rural Health Unit of Peñablanca successfully conducted the 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝘂𝗹𝗶 from May 5–8 and May 13, 2026 across the different cluster areas of the Municipality of Peñablanca, catering to the various barangays of the municipality.

Through the collective efforts and dedication of the RHU Peñablanca team, a total of 𝟰𝟲𝟭 young boys successfully underwent circumcision during the said activity.

This initiative was spearheaded under the leadership of 𝗗𝗿. 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗗. 𝗧𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗼𝗱, Municipal Health Officer, whose commitment to accessible healthcare services continues to benefit the community.

We also extend our sincere gratitude to the 𝗟𝗚𝗨 𝗣𝗲ñ𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗮 led by our very own Mayor, Hon. Marilyn Julia- Taguinod for their unwavering support in making this program possible, as well as to all barangay officials, health workers, volunteers, and parents who contributed to the success of this undertaking.

The Rural Health Unit of Peñablanca continues to bring essential healthcare services closer to the people through the ongoing implementation of PuroKalusugan in Buyun, Nababalayan, and Barangay Manga.

This continuing initiative reflects RHU Peñablanca’s dedication to delivering accessible, quality, and community-based health services to every purok, ensuring that families receive the care, education, and health support they deserve right in their own communities.

Through PuroKalusugan, residents benefit from sustained health programs and services aimed at promoting wellness, disease prevention, and stronger community health awareness.

With the unwavering support and leadership of Dr. Jane Frances Taguinod, Municipal Health Officer, and our DTTB, Dr. Bonna Bangayan-Tega, RHU Peñablanca remains steadfast in its mission to reach more communities and strengthen public health services for all.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | Successfully Conducted Data Quality Check Validation for the National Immunization Program

The Rural Health Unit of Peñablanca successfully concluded the Data Quality Check Validation for the National Immunization Program last April 21, 2026, held at the Municipal Health Office.

This important activity was conducted in collaboration with the dedicated staff from CVCHD and PHO, aiming to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of immunization data in support of strengthening public health services for the community.

Through this initiative, RHU Peñablanca continues to uphold its commitment to quality healthcare delivery, particularly in safeguarding children and families through an effective and efficient immunization program.

This accomplishment was made possible through the leadership and unwavering support of Dr. Jane Frances Taguinod, Municipal Health Officer, whose guidance continues to inspire excellence in public health service.

Together, we remain committed to promoting accurate health data, improving immunization services, and building a healthier Peñablanca for all.

In response to potential global pharmaceutical supply chain disruptions and price impacts caused by the ongoing Middle East conflict, the Department of Health is intensifying the monitoring of select drug prices across all relevant facilities. Public Health Pharmacists (PHPs) and Regional Drug Price Monitoring Officers (RDPMOs) will conduct weekly monitoring through facility visits or telephone inquiries to track the pricing of essential priority medicines.

All concerned establishments are requested to cooperate with these authorized personnel to ensure the timely consolidation and analysis of market data.

The first batch of the Basic Life Support (BLS) Training has been successfully conducted last April 16–17, 2026 at the Conference Hall, Municipal Hall of Peñablanca.

This training was attended by dedicated participants from the Municipal Health Office (MHO) and Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), equipping them with essential life-saving skills and knowledge in emergency response.

We extend our sincere gratitude to our trainers from MDRRMO Iguig, led by DMO IV Sir Allan L. Sibal of the CVCHD, for their expertise, guidance, and commitment in making this activity a success.

Special thanks as well to the unwavering support of our Municipal Health Officer, Dr. Jane Frances D. Taguinod, our DTTB, Dr: Bonna Bangayan-Tega, and our Municipal Mayor, Hon. Marilyn Julia-Taguinod, whose leadership and dedication continue to strengthen health and emergency preparedness in our municipality.

CERVICAL CANCER SCREENING & BREAST EXAMINATION ACTIVITY

The Rural Health Unit of Peñablanca successfully conducted a Cervical Cancer Screening and Breast Examination last February 21, 2026, providing essential preventive healthcare services to women in our community.

A health lecture on Cervical Cancer and Breast Examination was also conducted to raise awareness on early detection, prevention, and proper self-care practices.

This initiative was made possible through the collaboration of the following institutions:
• Cagayan Valley Medical Center – Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology
• Philippine Obstetrical and Gynecological Society – Northeastern Luzon
• Philippine Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology

We extend our sincere gratitude to the consultants and residents from the OB-GYNE Department of Cagayan Valley Medical Center for conducting the examinations and sharing their expertise in ensuring quality care for our patients.

A total of 219 patients were served, with 43 individuals identified for further evaluation and referred to the Cagayan Valley Medical Center Cancer Center for appropriate management.

We also acknowledge the presence of Hon. Marilyn Julia-Taguinod, whose support reflects the shared commitment to improving healthcare services in the municipality.

Our heartfelt appreciation goes to all partners, healthcare workers, and participants who contributed to the success of this activity.

Together, we continue to promote women’s health and build a healthier community. 💜
