On the night of May 31, 2026, what started as an emergency call from Ungka 1, Pavia became a story of courage, hope, and new beginnings.

When MDRRMO Pavia responders arrived, they found a mother already giving birth. There was no delivery room. No doctors nearby. Just a moving ambulance and a team trained to respond when every second matters. The situation quickly became critical as the baby was found with the umbilical cord wrapped around the neck and was not crying.

But panic was never an option.

With calm minds, trained hands, and years of experience, the team managed the emergency until the sweetest sound echoed inside the ambulanceโ€”a newborn baby's first cry.

That night, responders didn't just answer a call for help.
They helped welcome a new life into the world.

This remarkable response was carried out by: Christopher John Montaรฑo, RN, EMT โ€ข John Paulo D. Jumayao, EMS NC2 โ€ข EMS Gregorio O. Teodisio Jr., EMS NC2

In line with guidelines on the prepositioning of relief supplies for internally displaced individuals and families, the Municipality of Pavia, through the MDRRMO and MSWDO, has received a fresh stock of fortified Ready-to-Eat Food (RTEF) packs approved by the Department of Science and Technologyโ€“Food and Nutrition Research Institute (DOST-FNRI).

These nutrient-dense emergency food packs are specially designed to provide immediate nourishment during emergencies. Requiring no cooking, water, or preparation, they ensure that families affected by disasters, pre-emptive evacuations, or forced evacuations have access to safe, nutritious, and ready-to-consume meals when they need them most.

This initiative reflects the commitment of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC), under the leadership of Mayor Laurence Anthony G. Gorriceta, to embrace innovative technologies and evidence-based solutions in meeting the needs of Pavianhons.

By complementing traditional relief items such as rice and canned goods with advanced food technologies, Pavia continues to enhance its disaster preparedness and humanitarian response capabilities.

Because in times of crisis, resilience is not only about responding quicklyโ€”it is also about ensuring that no one goes hungry.
