๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ | The Province of Kalinga unveiled the SSIPS Marker for each city and municipality on May 12, 2026, during the formal declaration of the province as a State of Stable Internal Peace and Security (SSIPS).
Municipal and city leaders and representatives expressed support for the SSIPS status of the province. Each city and municipality affirmed its commitment to sustaining peace and security initiatives.
Among those leaders and representatives were Balbalan Mayor Almar Malannag, Lubuagan Vice Mayor Oliver Dickly, Pasil Mayor Silvestre Mosing, Pinukpuk Vice Mayor Shirlyn Dasayon-Alunday, Rizal Mayor Karl Bugao Baac, Tanudan Mayor Jaedick Rose P. Dagadag, Vice Mayor Antonio L. Basungit Jr., Tinglayan Mayor Charles A. Abay, and Tabuk City Legal Officer Kristian B. Wandag, who represented the city.
The marker with the seal of the SSIPS was officially presented as a symbol of the provinceโs achievement in maintaining stable internal peace and security. It represents the collective commitment of government authorities, security forces, and citizens to uphold lasting peace, unity, and sustainable development.
The SSIPS seal is guided by the Kalinga Bodong System, which reflects the provinceโs traditional peace agreement practices. The design incorporates traditional Kalinga weapons: the shield, spear, and head-axe. These elements symbolize protection, vigilance, and the shared responsibility of preserving law and order. Encircling them is a blue circular band, representing stability, discipline, and organized governance. Two stars are included to represent partnership and mutual respect among the people of Kalinga.
At the center of the seal are the insignias of the lead implementing agencies, highlighting strong inter-agency coordination in peace and security efforts across the province. A white dove carrying an olive branch with nine leaves is prominently featured, symbolizing peace and unity. The nine leaves represent the Province of Kalinga, composed of seven municipalities and one city, all united in their goal of harmony and development. Supporting elements include a woven textile motif reflecting Kalingaโs cultural heritage and identity, and golden banners symbolizing honor and achievement in sustaining peace and stability.
Overall, the seal represents heritage, unity, and shared responsibility as the foundation of peace, security, and progress in the province.
