WHAT WE DO

We develop and implement capacity development services for the local government officials and functionaries of DILG personnel. We are able to do this by collaborating with our network of partners who help us conduct research and develop and deploy interventions according to each of our client's needs. We are the premier training and development institution for capacity building towards

effective local governance. Since our formation in 1988, we have been committed to delivering quality programs to help local government units improve their services and innovative existing initiatives to meet emerging needs.

The LGA, together with the National Library of the Philippines, conducted the Knowledge Sharing Session titled, Ugnay Talakay, from September 1 - 3, 2026. The three-day session covered topics such as Overview of the RA 7160 or the LG Code of 1991, Introduction to Technical Writing and Results-based M&E. In her opening message, LGA Executive Director Thelma T. Vecina, emphasized the important roles of Public Librarians as knowledge partners of local governments as custodians of data and knowledge that will support evidence-based decision making of our local leaders.

๐—Ÿ๐—ข๐—ข๐—ž | 53 DILG Managers from DILG Region VII participate in the Training on Problem-Solving and Decision-Making for Leaders

Fifty-three (53) Middle Managers from DILG Region VII โ€” including Division Chiefs, Cluster Heads, C/MLGOOs, Program Managers, and Administrative Officers โ€” are attending the three-day Training on Problem-Solving and Decision-Making for Leaders on September 1-3, 2026 at the Kojo Hotels Cebu-Mandaue, Mandaue City.

The training aims to help participants revisit DILG's 3M shared values of Matino, Mahusay, Maaasahan and renew their commitment to these values; embrace their role as Leader-Managers in a fast-changing environment; understand the difference between Leadership and Management and when to apply each; and balance a leader's people-focused mindset with a manager's results-focused mindset.

Through this training, DILG Region VII reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the leadership capacity of its middle managers, equipping them with the tools and mindset needed to guide their teams and communities toward more effective, values-driven public service.

The session explored the Pax Silica Initiative, the Luzon Economic Corridor, and the emerging Economic Security Zone.
