The simultaneous flag-raising ceremony was observed to honor and commemorate the 128th Anniversary of Philippine Independence, serving as a solemn reminder of the courage, sacrifices, and patriotism of our national heroes who fought for the nationโ€™s freedom. This activity also aimed to strengthen the sense of nationalism, unity, and commitment among BFP personnel in upholding their duty of serving the public with integrity, dedication, and love of country.

The Bureau of Fire Protection โ€“ National Capital Region (BFP NCR) has placed all units under Heightened Alert Status (Code Blue) starting June 11, 2026 in observance of the 128th Philippine Independence Day.

Acting Regional Director, FSSUPT ATTY. ARCHIE R ANDUMANG directed fire marshals across Metro Manila to ensure readiness of fire suppression, rescue, and emergency medical services, emphasizing sustained monitoring, coordination, and interoperability with partner agencies. This heightened alert reflects the agencyโ€™s preparedness to respond to emergencies and support public safety during Independence Day activities.

The BFP NCR remains steadfast in its commitment to uphold Honor, Courage, and Service in protecting lives and properties.

Umaga ng 9 June 2026, habang nasa kanyang motorsiklo at patungo sa Regional Office, napadaan si FO1 Mark Jayson S Albania sa isang lalaking biktima ng pananaksak sa bahagi ng Anonas. Ayon sa biktima na nakilalang si Clang Castro, nasa loob sya ng isang jeepney nang bigla siyang pagsasaksakin ng isang hindi kilalang babae. Matapos ang insidente, pinababa siya ng driver ng jeep habang duguan at nangangailangan ng agarang tulong.

Sa kabila ng dami ng taong nakapaligid at nag-uusisa sa kanyang kalagayan, walang agarang tumulong o tumawag ng saklolo para sa biktima.

Hindi ito binalewala ni FO1 Albania. Agad siyang lumapit, sinuri ang kalagayan ni Castro, at isinakay ito sa kanyang motorsiklo upang maihatid sa pinakamalapit na ospital. Subalit pagdating sa unang ospital, hindi tinanggap para ma-admit ang pasyente at hindi rin pinahiram ng ambulansya para sa paglilipat.

Sa kabila nito, nakipag-ugnayan si FO1 Albania sa mga medical personnel at nakiusap na mabigyan man lamang ng paunang lunas ang pasyente upang maging ligtas ang pagbiyahe nito patungo sa ibang ospital.

Dahil mas malapit sa kanyang tahanan, hiniling ni Castro na dalhin siya sa Rizal Medical Center. Agad itong isinakatuparan ni FO1 Albania at personal na sinamahan ang pasyente hanggang sa makarating ito nang ligtas sa ospital.

Hindi pa rito nagtapos ang kanyang malasakit. Matapos makontak ang pamilya ng biktima, nanatili muna si FO1 Albania sa ospital at hinintay ang pagdating ng mga mahal sa buhay nito bago siya tuluyang umalis.

Sa kasalukuyan, nasa maayos nang kalagayan si Castro at nakikipag-ugnayan na sa Philippine National Police para sa kaukulang imbestigasyon at legal na aksyon laban sa babaeng suspek.

Ang ipinakitang kabayanihan ni FO1 Albania ay patunay na ang pagiging bumbero ay hindi lamang tungkol sa pag-apula ng apoy. Ito rin ay tungkol sa malasakit, sakripisyo, at kahandaang tumulong sa oras ng pangangailangan.
