The TPB Gender and Development (GAD) Focal Point System (GFPS) held its First Quarter Meeting for 2026 on March 30, chaired by Ms. Janet W. Canoy.

The meeting strengthened gender mainstreaming by approving a new Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Framework and developing GAD Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials. Key actions included committing to form the MAN-UP core group, establishing an internal awards system to boost the agency's GMEF score, and strengthening the Committee on Decorum and Investigation (CODI) Secretariat. The GFPS noted the 2026 GAD Plan and Budget (GPB) of a significant percentage of the total budget and set a refined utilization target of 90%.

The meeting concluded with the dissemination of the 2026 GAD Annual Program and Activities calendar and a call for continued commitment to uphold GAD mandates within the TPB.

The Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) proudly capped off its National Women's Month celebration by recognizing the extraordinary dedication and efforts of its personnel in advancing gender equality and women's empowerment (GAD). The ๐—ง๐—ฃ๐—• ๐—š๐—”๐—— ๐—–๐—ต๐—ฎ๐—บ๐—ฝ๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฒ ๐—”๐˜„๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฑ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—–๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—บ๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜†, held on 30 March 2026, shone a spotlight on the individuals whose commitment has been instrumental in fostering an inclusive and equitable environment within the organization and the tourism sector.

The annual GAD Champion Award is TPB's highest recognition for personnel who embody the spirit of GAD advocacy. This year's recipients were lauded for their invaluable contributions, which include pioneering gender-sensitive programs, promoting women's participation in decision-making roles, and ensuring that GAD principles are integrated into TPB's core promotional strategies and internal policies.

The award ceremony underscored TPBโ€™s firm belief that championing GAD is not merely a compliance requirement but a core commitment that drives innovation and enhances organizational resilience. The TPB remains committed to investing in its people, ensuring that every employee has the opportunity to thrive, regardless of gender.
