PNP ARRESTS NO. 1 MOST WANTED PERSON IN PALAWAN OVER R**E CASES
The Philippine National Police (PNP) arrested the No. 1 Most Wanted Person of Police Regional Office 4B (PRO4B) in Taytay, Palawan, on Tuesday evening, August 11, as police efforts to locate individuals facing serious criminal charges remain underway.
The suspect was arrested in Barangay Talog, Taytay, Palawan, in a joint operation conducted by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Palawan Provincial Field Unit and Taytay Municipal Police Station.
The arrest was made by virtue of a warrant for two counts of Qualified R**e of a Minor, for which no bail was recommended, and two counts of R**e by Sexual Assault, with recommended bail of ₱240,000.00.
The suspect is currently under the custody of the CIDG Palawan Provincial Field Unit for proper disposition.
Chief PNP Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. emphasized that the PNP will remain persistent in locating wanted persons as part of its duty to uphold the rule of law.
“Hindi natin hinahayaan na manatiling pending lang ang isang warrant. We act on it when we locate the person, and we do it within the law. That is our responsibility, and we will continue to carry it out professionally,” PGen Nartatez said.
The operation forms part of the PNP’s implementation of its Focused Agenda, particularly under Enhanced Managing Police Operations, which promotes coordinated and timely police action in addressing criminal cases.
The PNP supports the peace and security priorities of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. by ensuring that police operations are carried out professionally, responsibly, and with full respect for due process.
