PNHS Conducts Lockdown Drill with PNP
Palitod, Paracelis, Mountain Province — August 14, 2026
Palitod National High School, in close coordination with the Philippine National Police (PNP) – Paracelis, successfully carried out a lockdown drill on August 14, 2026, to strengthen school security protocols and ensure preparedness in line with the active attacks contingency plan.
The drill was led by PNP Paracelis officers, PLT Danny Kilaen, PSMS Jimmy Alinao, PMSG Orlando Batawang and members, who guided students and teachers through the procedures and later conducted an orientation session. They emphasized the importance of readiness in response to incidents that have already occurred in the country. In line with this, key measures that included bag inspections, visitor protocols, perimeter security, and the use of handheld metal detectors have started to be implemented in school.
Beyond physical security, police officers also reminded the student body to foster respect and avoid bullying, noting that misunderstandings and hostility among peers can escalate into harmful situations.
School Head Ma. Marissa Balao-as expressed gratitude to the PNP for their unwavering support in promoting safety and readiness in schools. Meanwhile, Chem Estrada, the school’s DRRM coordinator, further oriented learners on precautionary measures and readiness strategies to prevent active attacks.
This initiative reflects the strong partnership between PNHS and government agencies, underscoring the shared responsibility of ensuring a safe and secure learning environment for all.
