Every single morning, before the sun even fully rises, Raffy is already geared up and ready to hit the road. With his trusty motorcycle by his side, he braves the unpredictable streets of the metro day in and day out.

"It’s not an easy job. We spend the entire day on the road, battling the scorching heat."

But despite the grueling weather and the exhausting hours, Raffy finds joy in the journey. Every delivery is a chance to meet new people, and over time, many of his customers have turned into genuine friends.

Official Update: Strategic Collaboration for Upcoming GAD Livelihood Program

Led by Ms. Shella B. Bernal, MMPA, Officer-in-Charge of the Parañaque Workers Affairs Office (PWAO), a collaborative meeting was held at the Parañaque Livelihood Resource Management Office (PLRMO). The primary objective of the visit was to discuss a partnership for an upcoming Gender and Development (GAD) livelihood program.

Ms. Bernal met directly with the Head of PLRMO, Ms. Ma. Violeta P. Yamsuan, to lay the groundwork for this joint initiative.

Program Vision and Beneficiaries

This upcoming collaboration aims to drive local economic empowerment by providing sustainable, alternative income-generating opportunities. The program is specifically designed to benefit:
✅ Local Workers seeking to supplement their current wages.
✅ Domestic Workers (Kasambahay) looking for financial growth.
✅ Family Members and Relatives of workers, helping them secure an extra source of household income

Merville Warehouse Ocular Visit and Alignment Meeting 🤝🇵🇭

The Parañaque Workers Affairs Office (PWAO) conducted an ocular visit and alignment meeting at AC Logistics in Merville today. This is in preparation for the upcoming Kadiwa Program to be held at their company premises.

During the visit, the PWAO team met with Mr. Edward Limosnero (Manager for People & Culture) and Ms. Joyce Felices (Employee Engagement Specialist) to finalize the necessary preparations for the event.

The primary goal of this partnership is to bring affordable, fresh, and high-quality commodities closer to our hardworking local employees.

Meet Ms. Roselyn A. Marcelo, our Exemplary Factory Worker from Brgy. Marcelo Green.

Roselyn’s journey is a powerful testament to a mother's unconditional love. As a solo parent raising two children, she bravely took on the roles of both mother and father. Despite the heavy financial burdens and the demanding nature of factory work, she never wavered from her simplest yet deepest dream: to give her children a bright future through education. Through her sheer hard work, sweat, and tears: Her eldest child has successfully graduated from college with a degree in Electrical Engineering. And her youngest child has proudly graduated from elementary school.

There were moments when the weight of the world made her want to give up. She took on every honest job possible just to provide for her family's daily needs. But every single day, she chose to give her absolute best for her children.

HOLIDAY ADVISORY
Pursuant to Proclamation No. 1264

Please be informed that in accordance with the national holiday declaration, there will be no office operations on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, to allow all employees a day of rest.

Regular office operations will resume on Thursday, May 28, 2026.

📢 LABOR ADVISORY: HOLIDAY PAY RULES FOR EID AL-ADHA

In line with Proclamation No. 1264 declaring as a Nationwide Regular Holiday, please be guided by the official Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) computing guidelines for workers' wages.

Since there will be no office operations on this day, here is how the holiday pay applies to private-sector workers:

🔹 IF THE EMPLOYEE DID NOT WORK (Office is Closed):
• They are entitled to 100% of their basic daily wage, provided they were present or on an approved paid leave on the workday immediately preceding the holiday (Tuesday, May 26).
• Formula: Basic Daily Rate × 100%

🔹 IF THE EMPLOYEE IS REQUIRED TO WORK (Critical/Skeleton Staff):
• They must be paid 200% (Double Pay) of their basic wage for the first 8 hours of work.
• Formula: Basic Daily Rate × 200%

🔹 FOR OVERTIME WORK (Beyond 8 Hours):
• Workers will receive an additional 30% on top of their hourly holiday rate.
• Formula: Hourly Rate × 200% × 130% × Number of hours worked

🔹 IF WORKED AND IT FALLS ON THEIR SCHEDULED REST DAY:
• Workers receive an additional 30% on top of their 200% double pay.
• Formula: Basic Daily Rate × 200% × 130%

⚠️ REMINDER ON THE "NO WORK, NO PAY" RULE:

Unlike Special Non-Working Days, a Regular Holiday guarantees that workers still receive their basic day's pay even if the office is fully closed, as long as they didn't have an unexcused absence the day before.

Let’s ensure all our hardworking workforce are properly informed and compensated. Have a safe and restful mid-week break, everyone!

As we face unpredictable weather disasters and periods of extreme heat, it is vital for both workers and employers to know their rights and responsibilities.

🔵 Section 1: Weather Disasters (Storms, Floods, Typhoons)
• When work is officially suspended: You are generally entitled to full pay for the day, and employers should not deduct your pay (subject to company policy).
• When work is not suspended but travel is difficult: "No work, no pay" often applies unless you use leave credits. Prioritize your safety and communicate immediately with management.

🟠 Section 2: Extreme Heat (Heat Waves & High Temperatures)
• Employers must ensure a safe work environment under Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) standards.
• Employees have the right to voice concerns about heat stress, request breaks/hydration, and report unsafe conditions.

Long before the sun rises, while most of the city is still fast asleep, there are those who move in the shadows of the early morning. They carry no grand titles, yet they bear a massive responsibility: ensuring that every space we step into is clean, safe, orderly, and welcoming. They are the silent pillars of our daily routines.

Today, we honor one of Parañaque's very own outstanding workers. Meet Ms. Pinky P. Casañares, a dedicated housekeeper of 9 years from Brgy. Moonwalk.

For nearly a decade, Pinky has been the face of resilience. Her job demands physical stamina, patience, and meticulous care—traits she brings to work every single day without complaint. But her shift doesn’t end when she punches out of the time clock. Even when exhausted from work, the moment she returns home, her duties as a mother begin.

Like many Filipino workers, Pinky juggles the heavy dual role of being a provider and a nurturer. The exhaustion from hours of manual labor is immediately set aside the moment she steps through her front door, transforming back into a dedicated mother who cooks, cleans, and cares for her family.
