THE NALASIN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
The Nalasin Elementary School is situated at Brgy. 5 Nalasin, a rural barangay located at the northern part of the poblacion. away from the town proper of Paoay, at the Second Congressional district of the province of Ilocos Norte. The school site is bounded by a creek named Barsa on the southern part, on the west by a private lot number 8935, on the north b
y a barangay road named Malate St. The area of the School site is 5628 square meters as it was surveyed in May 31 1973. the lot was owned by the two brothers Mr. Pedro and Francisco Ralleca. the Municipality of Paoay purchased the lot from then in the amount of Seventy Pesos (Php. 70.00) only in the year 1936. the place is easily flooded, erosion occurs every year that is whay the lot's area is now only 4511 square meters. The lot was occupied by then the Nalasin Primary School since 1932, with only one building made of wood, with only one teacher and of a combination class of grades one and two. then a bamboo building was constructed in 1947 because the latter building was already destroyed. then a two classroom building with concrete floor was erected for grades three and four as another combination grade in 1952. In 1973, the RP-US Bayanihan Building was constructed because the old building was again dilapidated. The population of the barangay grew. More pupils came to study at the then Nalasin Primary School. In 1994, the PTA officials and members with the assistance of the School Head during that time made a resolution requesting the Department of Education for the construction of FVR Building, a two classroom to accommodate the growing school population. all the grade levels were made into single grades. the following school year another two classroom building was erected, the Conventional Building, to accommodate the grades Five and Six pupils. The school was then a complete elementary school. its first Graduation Exercises was in the School Year 1995-1996 with fifteen graduates. There are three hundred thirty-two pupils graduated in the school since the school year 1995-1996 to school year 2013-2014. At present, the total enrollment is one hundred thirty-eight with seven teachers and a school head.
