The Municipality of Pantukan officially launched the “Free Zumba Alang sa Davao de Oro” program, a health and wellness initiative spearheaded by Governor Raul G. Mabanglo and Congressman Leonel D. Ceniza under the theme, “Ready Mo Sayaw, Ready Mo Lambo.”

The program encourages all barangays to participate in the weekly Zumba sessions held every Friday at 3:30 p.m. at the Municipal Gymnasium.

The launch also featured a raffle draw, with prizes including 5 kilograms of rice and tumblers generously provided by Congressman Ceniza and Governor Mabanglo.

We sincerely thank our leaders for their unwavering support in promoting a healthy lifestyle, preventing obesity, and helping maintain the community’s well-being. Our heartfelt appreciation likewise goes to the employees of the Local Government Unit of Pantukan, Zumba enthusiasts, Sangguniang Bayan members, and the Barangay Councils for their active participation and support of this meaningful event.

The Municipal Nutrition Council officially launched the Nutrition Month Celebration with the theme, “Nutrisyon at Kalikasan, Ating Pangalagaan,” together with the kickoff of the 120-Day Batang Pantukan Feeding Program. The program serves 100 beneficiaries from the municipality’s 13 barangays and aims to rehabilitate undernourished children and help them achieve normal nutritional status.

The activity was attended by heads of offices, members of the Barangay Councils, Sangguniang Bayan members, stakeholders, and the beneficiaries of the feeding program. During the event, the 100 beneficiaries received food packs from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) through the initiative and support of Mayor Hon. Oliver D. Ceniza.

The Municipal Nutrition Council extends its heartfelt gratitude to all partners and supporters for their unwavering commitment to nutrition programs and the welfare of less fortunate children. Together, we look forward to continued collaboration in building a healthier future for every child in Pantukan.

The Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) conducted monthly meeting, highlighted by the election of the new set of officers. The newly elected officers are:
President: Annie Culaba – Barangay Matiao
Vice-President Medelyn L. Mores - Barangay Magnaga
Secretary: Ruby Ortiz – Barangay Kingking
Treasurer: Jeanelle Colanag – Barangay Kingking
Auditor: Rhon Fe Formentera– Barangay Magnaga

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Mrs. Rosita P. Capilitan for her dedicated years of service as BNS President. Her commitment, hard work, and leadership have greatly contributed to the success of the nutrition programs in the municipality. While her term as BNS President has come to an end, her service as a Nutrition Staff continues to inspire and support the community. The Municipal Nutrition Council Quarterly Meeting was presided over by Hon. Joan C. Damigan Juana Cab (Municipal Nutrition Action Officer). The meeting was attended by the Municipal Nutrition Coordinator, Barangay Captains, Barangay Nutrition Scholar, Department Heads, stakeholders, and the Pantukan North and South District Coordinators.

The agenda included the presentation of the MELLPI Evaluation Results, plans for the Nutrition Month Celebration, updates on the School-Based Feeding Program (SBFP), the Municipal Feeding Program, and concerns raised by the Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS).

We sincerely thank all stakeholders, barangay officials, school principals, and partner agencies for their unwavering support in achieving our nutrition program goals.

The Municipal Nutrition Council of Pantukan conducted a 3-day Training on the Philippine Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition (PIMAM) participated in by Barangay Nutrition Scholars, Nurse, Midwives, MHO personnel Headed by Dr. Niña Kristine Arancon-Olaco and Carol Cale together with the Municipal Nutrition Action Officer (MNAO)Hon. Joan C. Damigan Juana Cab and Municipal Nutrition Coordinator (MNC) Lourdes Bernadette Abao Madelo . The activity aimed to strengthen the knowledge and skills of participants in identifying, managing, and preventing acute malnutrition cases in the community. This initiative supports the municipality’s goal of achieving Zero Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) and Zero Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM) through effective nutrition interventions, proper case management, and strengthened collaboration among health and nutrition.

The Municipal Nutrition Council of Pantukan is conducting an Operation Timbang validation to verify children identified as undernourished across the 13 barangays. The activity is participated in by the Barangay Nutrition Scholar, Barangay Health Worker, SK Chairperson, Nurse or Midwife, Committee on Health and the Municipal Nutrition Staff.

OPT Validation is done to make sure that the list of undernourished children is correct, accurate, and reliable before actions and programs are implemented.

This activity is spearheaded by the Municipal Nutrition Action Officer Hon. Joan Caballero-Damigan and the Municipal Nutrition Coordinator Lourdes Bernadette M. Luad. The team also expresses its sincere gratitude to Municipal Mayor Oliver D. Ceniza for his unwavering support of the municipality’s nutrition programs and activities.

We also extend our sincere gratitude and appreciation to all the Punong Barangays and Barangay Kagawads for their invaluable moral support.
