๐ŸŒพ Training Highlights | Pest and Nutrient Management (PNM) Training ๐ŸŒฑ

The Pest and Nutrient Management (PNM) Training for Farmers successfully concluded on March 20, 2026 at the Barangay Multi-Purpose Hall, Barangay Magubilan, Panay, Capiz.

The first batch, composed of 27 rice farmers, successfully completed the training equipped with enhanced knowledge and practical skills on sustainable rice production, proper pest management, and balanced nutrient application. Indeed, it was a highly productive and meaningful learning experience for all participants.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes to our Municipal Mayor, Jonathan B. Besa, for his unwavering support and dedication to the farmers of Panay.

We also acknowledge the presence of our Barangay Officials, whose support and appreciation further strengthened our shared commitment to uplifting the agriculture sector in the community.

We extend our sincere appreciation to our dedicated resource persons: Arvin Keith Dangan, Agricultural Technician from the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist, LGU Panitan, Capiz; G*e Emmanuel B. The Municipal Agriculture Office successfully conducted the First Quarter Meeting of the Municipal Agriculture and Fisheries Council (MAFC) a vital platform for collaboration, planning, and policy direction to further uplift our local agriculture and fisheries sectors.

The meeting was presided over by Mr. Mabini B. Besinio, MAFC Chairman, and facilitated by Ms. Verna B. Vera, MAFC Coordinator, with the active participation of MAFC Officers and Members, along with representatives from various Farmersโ€™ Cooperatives and Associations (FCAs) of Panay.

We were also honored by the presence of the National Food Authority (NFA) Capiz, led by Maโ€™am Mellany M. Vento, Branch Manager, together with Maโ€™am Rodelyn Betita, PEO Head of Capiz, who shared important updates on their mandates, programs, and ongoing initiatives supporting our farmers.

In addition, Mr. Rufino Dunton, PAFC Coordinator, provided updates on the Provincial Agriculture and Fisheries Council (PAFC) programs, further strengthening the linkage between municipal and provincial agricultural initiatives.

This gathering reflects the strong commitment of the local government, partner agencies, and the farming community to work hand-in-hand in achieving a more productive, resilient, and sustainable agriculture sector.

March 18, 2026, a Holiday Rice Special for us, marked the successful conduct of Day 1 of the Pest and Nutrient Management (PNM) Training for Farmers held at the Barangay Magubilan Multi-Purpose Hall, Barangay Magubilan, Panay, Capiz. The activity was actively participated in by 27 rice farmers, eager to enhance their knowledge and skills in sustainable rice production.

We are deeply honored by the presence of our beloved Municipal Mayor, Jonathan B. Besa, whose attendance truly showed his unwavering support and commitment to strengthening the agriculture sector. Also present was Barangay Captain Floramae Castillo, for her continuous support to our local farmers.

This training, funded under the Gender and Development (GAD) Program, aims to equip farmers with the right knowledge on proper pest control and balanced nutrient management key factors in increasing rice productivity, reducing unnecessary input costs, and promoting environmentally sustainable farming practices.

We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to DA-PhilRice Negros for their invaluable assistance in outlining this training and for delivering informative and insightful presentations to our farmers.
