Through the virtue of Presidential Proclamation No. 33, series of 1989, the month of May is proclaimed as "Farmers and Fisherfolk Month" to acknowledge the contribution of Filipino farmers and fishermen to the sustainability and achievement of food security in the country.

The City Agriculture Office thru Fisheries Management Section joins the nation in celebrating this year's Farmers and Fisherfolk Month.

To remain true in recognizing their exceptional efforts, on May 29, 2023, "Fisherfolk Month and Capability Building" will be held in collaboration with the Davao del Norte State College, and series of activities has lined up intended for them. These aims to let them feel that the Local Government Unit-Panabo City and the Academe are behind them and supporting them.
