Eleven proud graduates of the College of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries, NORSU Pamplona successfully joined the face-to-face oathtaking ceremony for newly registered Foresters held at Harolds Hotel, Cebu City. The event, organized by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and the Professional Regulatory Board for Foresters, marked a historic milestone in the professional journey of the new Foresters as they pledged their commitment to the responsibilities and ethical standards of the profession.
βThe ceremony gathered a total of 177 oathtakers nationwide, accompanied by their families, mentors, and friends. Among them were the 11 forestry board passers, together with Dr. Josie M. Rodriguez, whose achievement brought honor and pride to the college and the university community. Their participation reflected not only personal success but also the institutionβs dedication to producing competent professionals in forestry and environmental stewardship.
PRC Regional Office VII Director Narcival Z. Taquiqui delivered an inspiring message, reminding the oathtakers that tree planting is more than an activity, it is an act of giving hope for sustainability, resilience, and a better future. His words resonated deeply with the new Foresters, encouraging them to view their profession as a vital contribution to nation-building and environmental protection.
βThe oath of profession was administered by Hon. Neria Andin, Chairperson of the Professional Regulatory Board for Foresters. In her address, she emphasized the ethical obligations, competence, and integrity expected of Foresters, underscoring their crucial role in balancing development with conservation and safeguarding the countryβs forest resources.
For the Forestry Licensure Examination passers, the ceremony was not only a celebration of their success but also a call to action. As they embark on their professional careers, they carry with them a renewed sense of purpose, responsibility, and hope for a greener and more sustainable future. Their achievement stands as a testament to the collegeβs commitment to academic excellence and its vital role in shaping future leaders in forestry.
