Ang National Housing Authority (NHA) ay magpapatupad ng isang buwang moratorium ngayong Mayo 2026 para sa lahat ng residential account holders sa buong Region V, bunsod ng matinding pagsabog ng Bulkang Mayon.
Sa panahong ito, suspendido ang pagbabayad ng amortisasyon at walang karagdagang multa o interes na ipapataw.
Ang pansamantalang moratorium ay pagbibigay daan ng ahensya na makabangon muli ang kabuhayan ng mga pamilyang napinsala dulot ng naturang mga kalamidad.
Muling ipagpapatuloy ang regular na paniningil ng amortisasyon sa Hunyo 1, 2026.

🏠The National Housing Authority (NHA) Region VIII, under the leadership of Regional Manager Engr. Clemente A. Dayot, accommodated the interview request of students from Leyte Normal University for their documentary entitled “Pabahay at Pagbabago: Ang Walang Katapusang Ikot ng Lipunan.”

Conducted on May 5, 2026, the interview featured Engr. Dayot as the resource speaker, where he discussed the Authority’s mandate, major housing programs, and continuing efforts in providing safe, decent, and sustainable housing communities for Filipino families. He also shared insights on the implementation of government housing initiatives, including the challenges, processes, and mechanisms involved in delivering housing services to beneficiaries across the region.

Through this engagement, NHA Region VIII reaffirmed its support for academic and educational initiatives that foster awareness, encourage meaningful dialogue and promote a deeper understanding of the housing sector and its impact on nation-building to strengthen its partnership with educational institutions and stakeholders in advancing informed discussions on housing and community development.

🏠On May 5, 2026, the National Housing Authority (NHA) Region VIII, led by Regional Manager Engr. Clemente A. Dayot, welcomed the National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC) Region VIII headed by Regional Director Antonio R. Dolaota for a courtesy meeting and discussion on possible partnership initiatives aimed at promoting the welfare and protection of senior citizens in the region.

During the meeting, both agencies discussed potential areas of collaboration, including programs and services that may support the housing and community development needs of senior citizens. The NCSC also presented its mandate and various programs for senior citizens pursuant to Republic Act No. 11350 or the National Commission of Senior Citizens Act of 2019.

The activity served as an avenue to strengthen inter-agency coordination and explore collaborative efforts toward inclusive and responsive public service for the elderly sector.

In line with the celebration of Earth Day 2026 and in response to the initiative of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), the National Housing Authority (NHA) Region VIII actively participated in the Sustainability Pledge Wall activity.

As part of this initiative, NHA facilitated the printing of a Sustainability Pledge Wall tarpaulin and strategically displayed it in a visible and accessible area within the office premises. This allowed personnel to take part in the activity and reflect on their role in protecting the environment.

NHA employees expressed their commitment by affixing their signatures on the pledge wall, symbolizing their support for environmental protection, sustainability and responsible stewardship of natural resources. Through this participation, NHA reaffirms its commitment to supporting government-led environmental initiatives and integrating sustainability principles in its programs and operations.

The National Housing Authority (NHA) assisted the conduct of 2-day Social Preparation Activities of the Department of Social Welfare and Development-Sustainable Livelihood Program (DSWD-SLP) to the NHA-endorsed beneficiaries of Green Park 1 and Basey Pointe 1 for Zero Hunger-Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty held at 3rd floor BFP Building, Brgy. Tingib, Basey, Samar on April 22-23, 2026.

Present during the event are: DSWD-SLP staff headed by Provincial Coordinator Samar Cluster, Mr. Ariel Boleche and Project Development Officer II assigned in the Municipality of Basey, Samar, Ms. Lyrha S. Matiga, NHA Samar 2 District Office-Community Support Services Unit staff headed by Ms. Pamela C. Villas, Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor (PCUP) staff, Ms. Ritchel C. Radaza.

The 2-day activity highlights the Sustainable Livelihood Program Orientation; Organizational Development and Leadership Training; and Micro-Enterprise Development Training (Module 1) with several workshops per discussed topics that the housing beneficiaries actively accomplished.

The National Housing Authority (NHA) Region VIII, led by Regional Manager Engr. Clemente A. Dayot, conducted a coordination meeting with the Local Government Unit of Kawayan, Biliran, represented by Ms. Rhodora Corazon Tambis, Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer (MSWDO), and Mr. Sofronio C. Atok, Jr., Housing Focal Person.

Also present during the meeting were Engr. Jay Martin Daisog, Principal Engineer A; Engr. Jean Lastrilla-Mercado, Project Development Officer III and Ms. Ilka Phenny A. Bustillo, Acting Senior CSS Officer; and Mr. Paul Edwin A. Mendiola, Estate Management Specialist.

The meeting focused on the discussion of the current status of St. Rafael’s Village in Brgy. Kansanok, Kawayan, Biliran, under the NHA’s Yolanda Permanent Housing Program, particularly issues concerning low occupancy rate, illegal occupancy, housing extensions, and other significant matters affecting the administration of the housing project.
