​𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗧 𝗥𝗔𝗠𝗢𝗡 𝗠𝗔𝗚𝗦𝗔𝗬𝗦𝗔𝗬, 𝗣𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗡𝘂𝗲𝘃𝗮 𝗘𝗰𝗶𝗷𝗮 – The 56th Infantry “Tatag” Battalion conducted a Commander’s Time on June 12, 2026, immediately following the flag-raising ceremony joined by the officers and key leaders of the 56IB at the 7th Infantry Division Headquarters. The activity aimed to strengthen patriotism, reinforce core military values, and promote organizational unity among the troops in commemoration of the 128th Philippine Independence Day. The gathering provided a vital venue for personnel to reflect on their duty to safeguard national sovereignty and maintain regional peace and security.

​In his address to the troops, LTC ALI B SUMANGIL INF (GSC) PA, Commanding Officer of the 56IB, emphasized the essence of sacrifice and continuous self-improvement. He stated, “True service requires sacrifice, discipline, and a commitment to continuous growth. As we honor our nation's heroes, let us strive to become better soldiers and individuals dedicated to serving our country.”

​Following the commander's message, the battalion staff presented relevant updates focused on the professional development, welfare, and morale of the troops, while reiterating the standards of military discipline. The activity concluded with the personnel reaffirming their commitment to serve the nation with honor, integrity, and dedication, successfully aligning the spirit of Independence Day with the everyday mission of the Philippine Army.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝟓𝟔𝐭𝐡 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐲 "𝐓𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐠" 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝟓𝟔𝐈𝐁) conducted its recorded annual marksmanship training program on June 3, 2026, at Fort Ramon Magsaysay in Palayan City, Nueva Ecija. The exercises focused primarily on fire and maneuver tactics executed through squad permanency, a method that keeps squad compositions consistent to build teamwork and coordination. Instructors from the 7th Division Training School (7DTS) facilitated the activity, providing professional guidance and evaluating the performance of the personnel.

To ensure standard operational readiness across the entire unit, this training program is mandatory for all "Tatag" troopers, including both officers and enlisted personnel. The activity directly improved the capabilities of individual squads by focusing on small-unit leadership. Through realistic training scenarios, squad and team leaders gained practical experience in commanding their units, issuing field orders, and directing synchronized movements under pressure.

The recorded results from this annual training serve as an official measure of the unit's regular readiness and proficiency across all ranks. By refining the decision-making skills of key leaders and strengthening teamwork at the squad level, the 56IB ensures its personnel remain fully prepared for standard security and field operations.

𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐓 𝐑𝐀𝐌𝐎𝐍 𝐌𝐀𝐆𝐒𝐀𝐘𝐒𝐀𝐘, 𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐍𝐮𝐞𝐯𝐚 𝐄𝐜𝐢𝐣𝐚– The 56th Infantry (TATAG) Battalion, 7th Infantry (KAUGNAY) Division, Philippine Army, participated in a Combat Shooting Training conducted in collaboration with the Australian Army at Fort Ramon Magsaysay, Palayan City, Nueva Ecija.

The activity aimed to enhance the marksmanship, tactical proficiency, and combat readiness of participating troops through the exchange of best practices and modern shooting techniques. The training provided an opportunity for soldiers from both armies to strengthen interoperability, foster professional relationships, and improve their capabilities in combat operations.

Through practical exercises and hands-on instruction, participants gained valuable insights into effective weapons handling, target engagement, and battlefield shooting principles. The activity also reinforced the longstanding defense cooperation and mutual commitment between the Philippine Army and the Australian Army in promoting regional security and military excellence.

The 56th Infantry Battalion remains steadfast in its commitment to developing highly capable and mission-ready soldiers through continuous training and international military engagements, ensuring its readiness to address current and emerging security challenges.

𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐓 𝐑𝐀𝐌𝐎𝐍 𝐌𝐀𝐆𝐒𝐀𝐘𝐒𝐀𝐘, 𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 – Personnel of the 56th Infantry Battalion (56IB) and the Australian Army conducted a bilateral training exercise on combat tracking and jungle survival at Fort Ramon Magsaysay to enhance interoperability and strengthen jungle warfare capabilities.

The combat tracking training focused on identifying and following signs of movement to locate simulated targets in dense terrain. Participants practiced tracking techniques, observation skills, and tactical responses to improve their effectiveness in jungle operations.

The jungle survival training covered essential fieldcraft skills, including shelter construction, water sourcing and purification, fire-making, and identifying available food sources in the environment. The activities were designed to enhance the participants’ adaptability and self-sufficiency during extended operations.

The training highlighted the continued cooperation between the Philippine Army and the Australian Army in developing operational readiness and sharing professional knowledge. The activity concluded with a debriefing session to capture lessons learned and strengthen future engagements between the two forces.

𝐒𝐀𝐋𝐀𝐊𝐍𝐈𝐁: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐱𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐡𝐚𝐬𝐞

The bonds grow stronger as the real-world action begins; therefore, the Task Forces 56, alongside our counterparts from the U.S. Army and the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF), have officially launched the ex*****on phase of Salaknib Exercise 2026.

This phase shifts our focus from planning rooms to field maneuvers, so our forces are now actively testing tactical capabilities, sharpening combined readiness, and enhancing interoperability across complex environments.

Together, we are not just training; instead, we are fortifying a shared commitment to regional peace, stability, and mutual defense.
