The Municipal Action Team together with the officer of the Municipal Federation of Parent Leaders of Palauig, attended the SB hearing for the passage of the Ordinance on Prohibition and Penalizing 4Ps Beneficiaries from Pawning their Cashcards or using their Cashcards as Collateral in Securing Loans and Debts and penalizing creditors in accepting cards as collateral in securing loans and debts. The hearing was facilitated by the SB Chair on Social Service Hon. Franklin T. Nacin. The MAT was able to explain the benefit of the ordinance once passed, and one of which is gradually eliminating the practice of pawning of cashcard. In effect, grants received will be utilized for educational and health needs of the family instead of paying for the interest and capital of the loan or debt.
