PDAO Palapag proudly participated in the Provincial PWD Congress 2026, held on June 2, 2026, at Ibabao Hall as part of the Ibabao Festival 2026. Seven delegates from Palapag, composed of PDAO personnel, Federation officers, and PWD President, attended the event, strengthening advocacy efforts and promoting empowerment, inclusion, and collaboration for persons with disabilities.

During the event, Mr. Marlo C. Capacio, Disability Affairs Officer, shared the experiences and best practices of PDAO Palapag in implementing programs and services for persons with disabilities, contributing valuable insights and inspiring fellow advocates across the province. ♿

📢 11 May 2026 | PDAO Conducts PWD Presidents’ Special Meeting

The Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) successfully held a Special Meeting with PWD Presidents in preparation for the upcoming 2026 National Disability Rights Week celebration on July 17–23, 2026.

The meeting focused on the finalization of plans, coordination of activities, and strengthening collaboration to ensure a meaningful and inclusive celebration that promotes the rights, welfare, and empowerment of persons with disabilities in our community. ♿💙

The Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) of Palapag, Northern Samar, extends its warmest gratitude to the Provincial Government of Northern Samar, through the Provincial Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PPDAO), for the successful implementation of the Hearing Aid Assistance Program in partnership with Catarman ENT and Hearing Clinic.

Through this initiative, four beneficiaries from the Municipality of Palapag—Arkanghel G. Cerbito of Barangay B. S. Aquino, Jr.; Francisco R. Pelegrino of Barangay Nagbobtac; and Josefina C. Lacorte and Audrey S. Caparal of Barangay Tambangan—were provided with hearing aids following a series of consultations and thorough assessments. These procedures ensured that the devices issued were appropriate and responsive to their individual hearing needs.

This meaningful collaboration highlights a shared commitment to advancing inclusive and accessible healthcare services for persons with disabilities. The provision of hearing aids not only supports improved communication but also promotes greater participation of beneficiaries in their families and communities.

Once again, the PDAO Palapag expresses its sincere appreciation to the Provincial Government of Northern Samar and its partners for their continued support and dedication to improving the lives of persons with disabilities.

PWD Beneficiaries Receive Livelihood Support Under LAKAS Hog Dispersal Program

The distribution of one (1) sack of feeds to selected PWD beneficiaries was successfully conducted as part of the second batch of the livelihood program, in partnership with the Municipal Agriculture Office under the LAKAS Hog Dispersal Program, which was implemented from April to June 2024 (first batch).

This initiative aims to support sustainable livelihood opportunities and enhance food security among persons with disabilities in the community.

Despite the challenges brought about by African Swine Fever (ASF), the program remains steadfast through the commitment of all stakeholders, ensuring the continuity of assistance and the promotion of resilience among beneficiaries.

Empowering our PWD leaders! 💙

On April 1, 2026, the Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) of Palapag, Northern Samar successfully distributed quarterly financial assistance amounting to Php 1,000.00 each to PWD Association Presidents and their authorized representatives from the 32 component barangays.

This initiative aims to support their vital role in mobilizing members, strengthening organizations, and promoting active participation in local governance. Despite limited resources, the Municipal Government remains committed to delivering inclusive and responsive social services for the PWD sector. ♿

ICYMI || PWD Beneficiaries in Palapag Receive TUPAD Payout Despite Work Suspension

A total of four (4) beneficiaries from the vulnerable sector, specifically registered Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) of the Municipality of Palapag, successfully received their TUPAD (Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers) payout at the DOLE Northern Samar Office on February 09, 2026, despite the declaration of work suspension by the Provincial Government.

The beneficiaries participated in a 10-day TUPAD program, wherein they rendered meaningful services at their respective Barangay Halls. Their tasks contributed to community support and barangay-level operations, highlighting inclusivity and equal opportunities for PWDs in government programs.

Each beneficiary received an amount of Four Thousand Three Hundred Fifty Pesos (₱4,350.00) as compensation for the services rendered under the program.

This payout reflects the continued commitment of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) to support vulnerable sectors, ensuring that assistance reaches intended beneficiaries even amid unforeseen circumstances such as work suspensions.

The Municipal Government of Palapag, through the Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO), extends its gratitude to DOLE Northern Samar, Northern Samar Public Employment Service Office (NSPESO), and the Provincial PDAO for their unwavering support and for promoting inclusive employment opportunities for PWDs in the municipality.
