DID YOU KNOW?
The Philippines is celebrating its 128th Independence Day
On June 12, 1898, General Emilio Aguinaldo declared Philippine independence from Spain in Kawit, Cavite, marking a significant milestone in the nation's struggle for freedom. On that historic day, the Philippine Flagโsewn in Hong Kong by Marcela Agoncillo, Lorenza Agoncillo, and Delfina Herbosa de Natividadโwas proudly unfurled before the public and the โMarcha Nacional Filipinaโ composed of Julian Felipe was played for the first time.
Today, Filipinos commemorate Philippine Independence Day every June 12, honoring the sacrifices of the heroes who fought for the nation's freedom and inspiring future generations to uphold the values of patriotism, unity, and nationhood.
The Municipality of Palapag proudly joins the nation in commemorating this historic occasion, reaffirming its commitment to preserving the legacy of our heroes and fostering love for country among all Palapagnons.
