Lotowners Engage in 3rd Deliberation for Industrial Ecozone in Tarrag

The 3rd Deliberation Meeting with PEZA-approved Industrial Economic Zone lotowners introduced the Waste-to-Energy investment program, aimed at addressing waste management while supporting the development of a 5-hectare site in Barangay Tarrag, Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte.

Indicative land values were presented, and lotowners actively shared their insights and suggestions, with a request for one final deliberation to finalize key matters.

Day 1 Highlights | Technical Consultation on Product Innovation

The first day of the Technical Consultation on Product Innovation for the Saguigui Coffee in Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte was a productive and insightful session focused on strengthening quality from farm to cup.

Initiated by the Department of Trade and Industry Ilocos Norte Office, the activity gathered the Saguigui Tribal Council Inc. coffee growers and processors to enhance their knowledge and skills in improving coffee quality and market competitiveness.

The highlight of today’s consultation centered on:
🌱 Proper Harvesting – understanding the importance of picking ripe cherries to ensure optimal flavor quality
🫘 Proper Sorting – removing defects and maintaining consistent standards
☀️ Proper Drying – applying correct techniques to preserve bean integrity and prevent spoilage

Sharing their expertise were technical experts Michael Hernando and Aaron Gajeton from One Coffee Studio, who provided hands-on guidance and practical insights grounded in industry standards.

This initiative marks another step forward in elevating Saguigui Coffee and empowering our local farmers in Pagudpud to produce high-quality, competitive coffee products.

Pagudpud Industrial and IT Hub Economic Zone, Now PEZA Approved — Presidential Proclamation, Up Next

The Pagudpud Industrial and IT Hub Economic Zone has been PEZA approved, with a Presidential Proclamation as the next step.

Local Chiel Executive (LCE) Rafael Ralph L. Benemerito II presented the proposed PEZA development sites in Barangays Aggasi, Tarrag, and Dampig to lot owners, who openly shared their concerns and suggestions.

The LCE expressed optimism about the project as a step toward making Pagudpud a “Garden City of the Norte,” assuring a win-win partnership between the LGU and lot owners.

He also remains open to further deliberations if needed.

Indeed, another step towards development for the community. Indeed a so good, Pagudpud. 💙
