“Serbisyong Tapat at Sapat” in Action: SDO Quezon Leaders Strengthen Support for CALABARZON Athletes at Palarong Pambansa 2026

AGUSAN DEL SUR — In a strong display of committed educational leadership and unwavering support for student-athletes, the key officials of the Schools Division Office of Quezon conducted a series of venue visits, monitoring activities, and morale-boosting engagements during the weeklong Palarong Pambansa 2026, also known as “Palaro tu AgSur,” held from May 24–31, 2026.

Leading the delegation was Schools Division Superintendent Rommel Bautista, together with Assistant Schools Division Superintendents Roselyn Golfo, Lorena Walangsumbat, and Aris Barrago. They were joined by CID Chief Walter Galarosa, SGOD Chief Juanito Merle, and Education Program Supervisor Asuncion Ilao in visiting various billeting quarters, competition venues, and athlete support areas across Agusan del Sur.

Throughout the monitoring activities from May 24 to 27, the officials personally checked the condition, welfare, readiness, and morale of the Quezon and CALABARZON delegates participating in different sporting events. Their presence brought encouragement not only to athletes and coaches, but also to the technical working groups and support personnel tirelessly serving behind the scenes.

At the forefront of the operational management of the delegation is EPS for MAPEH and Division Sports Officer Jay Alfaro, whose steadfast coordination, close supervision, and dedicated management efforts have significantly contributed to the smooth implementation of the division’s participation in the national games. His leadership continues to ensure that athletes, coaches, and delegates receive the support, guidance, and coordination necessary throughout the competition period.

The visit likewise reflected the battlecry and guiding principle of the division — “Serbisyong Tapat at Sapat” — a commitment that resonates deeply in the way SDO Quezon leaders continuously extend genuine service, responsive leadership, and meaningful support to both learners and personnel. More than a monitoring activity, the engagement became a manifestation of compassionate leadership grounded in presence, solidarity, and shared purpose.

As the games continue, the SDO Quezon delegation remains united in championing not only athletic excellence, but also the values of discipline, teamwork, resilience, and regional pride — carrying with them the enduring spirit of CALABARZON and the unwavering commitment of Quezon educators to every learner’s success.

“Tahimik sa Praktis, Matapang sa Laro”: Quezon’s SNED Pride Dhenbert Beldad Harvests Gold at Palaro tu AgSur

Pride and inspiration filled the hearts of the Quezon delegation as Dhenbert V. Beldad, a SNED learner from San Antonio Central School, harvested a gold medal in Bocce while representing Team CALABARZON Heroes during the Palarong Pambansa 2026 “Palaro tu AgSur.”

Representing both CALABARZON Heroes and the Province of Quezon, Dhenbert proved that determination, discipline, and quiet strength can lead to extraordinary victories.

Dhenbert, a learner under the transition non-graded class of San Antonio Central School in San Antonio, Quezon, has been playing bocce for only three years. Before discovering the sport, he first trained as an athletics player. Despite his relatively short experience in bocce, he demonstrated remarkable composure and excellence on the national stage.

According to his adviser and local trainer, Sir Shernand Roda, Dhenbert is the type of athlete whose true strength shines brightest during actual competition.

“Siya po ay ang tipo ng player na sa praktis ay hindi agad ipinapakita ang kanyang galing, pero sa game proper ay lumalabas ang tunay niyang laro,” shared Sir Roda. “Never mo po siyang makikitang nerbyos. Less talk, more on work po siya.”

Indeed, behind Dhenbert’s calm demeanor is a disciplined competitor whose focus and humility became among the keys to his golden triumph. Quiet during practice yet fearless during competition, he embodied resilience and determination throughout the games.

His success was guided by mentors who continuously believed in his potential — Coach Juris Rañin of Lucena City, local trainer Sir Shernand Roda, regional trainer Ma’am Pearl Lique Lozano, Division Coach Jerick A. Hernandez, and EPS for SNED Joan Alejaida Mauhay — all proudly contributing to the development and empowerment of Quezon’s young athletes in the field of sports.

More than a medal, Dhenbert’s victory stands as a powerful reminder that learners with special educational needs can thrive and excel when nurtured with patience, opportunity, and support. His journey reflects the heart of inclusive education and the spirit of perseverance that continues to inspire communities across Quezon and CALABARZON.

Through Dhenbert’s achievement, Team CALABARZON Heroes did not only bring home gold — they also carried home a story of courage, humility, and hope.

Congratulations, Dhenbert Beldad!
Your golden victory at Palarong Pambansa 2026 “Palaro tu AgSur” has become a shining inspiration for the SNED community, for Quezon Province, and for the entire Team CALABARZON Heroes. (MJDPatiño)
