Pagadianons, with pride and gratitude, we share another significant milestone for our beloved Pagadian City.

From being a growing city in Western Mindanao, padayon nato nga gipakita nga kaya sa Pagadian nga mahimong competitive, progressive, ug business-friendly nga syudad.

Arun masabtan sa tanan, unsa ba gayud ang “Locally-Sourced Income”? — Kini mao ang income nga directly generated sa usa ka local government gikan sa iyang kaugalingong economic activities ug local collections — dili apil ang national government allotment o ayuda gikan sa national agencies.

This includes:
✅ Business taxes
✅ Real property taxes
✅ Mayor’s permits and licenses
✅ Market and terminal fees
✅ Economic enterprises
✅ Other local revenues collected by the city government

In simple terms, kung mas daghan negosyo, investments, ug economic activities sa syudad — mas mudako ang locally-sourced income. Mao kini ang usa ka strong indicator nga healthy ug active ang local economy.

Ang atong pagka-Top 9 sa tibuok Mindanao is not accidental. This is the result of our collective efforts to make Pagadian City more investor-friendly, business-friendly, transparent, peaceful, and progressive. Through streamlined processes, improved local services, infrastructure development, support to MSMEs, tourism promotions, and strengthened public-private partnerships, nakita nato ang positive effect sa atong paningkamot.

This achievement belongs not only to the City Government, but to every entrepreneur, taxpayer, worker, investor, ug sa tanang Pagadianon nga nagtinabangay para sa kalamboan sa syudad.

𝐎𝐅𝐅𝐈𝐂𝐈𝐀𝐋 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓

In light of the ongoing crisis in the Middle East and its impact on global fuel prices, which has significantly affected our constituents, the City Government of Pagadian has resolved to implement an austerity program for the upcoming 57th Araw ng Pagadian celebration.

To prioritize the welfare of our citizens and ensure the prudent and responsible use of public resources, the celebration will be simplified, with funds redirected to programs and services that directly benefit our people. In line with this decision, Miss Universe Philippines - Pagadian City 2026 pageant and the Araw ng Pagadian Grand Street Party are hereby cancelled.

Despite these adjustments, the 57th Araw ng Pagadian will remain meaningful and reflective of our city’s resilience and pride. The celebration will feature the Awarding for Outstanding Pagadianons, the Drum and Lyre Interschool Competition, Civic-Military Parade, and etc.

Through these activities, we seek to honor the spirit of Pagadian in a modest yet significant manner, highlighting solidarity, service, and civic pride. We encourage all Pagadianons to join us in celebrating our city’s history and recognizing the invaluable contributions of our people, while remaining mindful of the challenges we collectively face.
