Fostering tactical readiness, military knowledge, and leadership, the La Salle University ROTC Unit successfully conducted its comprehensive training on September 5, 2026, at La Salle University.

The day's rigorous program was structured to build both operational competence and institutional understanding among the cadets:

Tactical Readiness & Basic Weapon Training: Cadets underwent equipment familiarization and orientation on proper handling procedures, emphasizing discipline, alertness, responsibility, and safe conduct.

AFP Historical Background & Evolution: Delivered expertly by Sgt. Rosemae Ann F. Tulin (Res), highlighting the development of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and its evolving role in national defense.

Present Concept of Internal Security Operations (ISO): Presented by Maj. Ely B. Limates (Res), providing vital insights into the AFP’s current approach to safeguarding national stability and addressing security concerns.

Military Leadership: Delivered by Sgt. John Michael P. Luna (Res), underscoring leadership as a responsibility grounded in discipline, integrity, accountability, and leading by example.

More than a day of drills and lectures, the training brought together the hands that learn, the minds that understand, and the character that must endure. Each lesson added another layer to the cadets’ preparation—not simply to respond when duty calls, but to understand the weight of answering it.

Ensuring optimal physical fitness, well-being, and operational readiness for rigorous military training, the trainees of the Basic Citizen Military Training (BCMT) Class 01-2026 successfully underwent their Physical Medical Examination (PME) on September 3 and 4, 2026.

The comprehensive medical evaluations were conducted at the Kuta Major Cesar L. Sang-an Station Hospital, located inside Camp Major Cesar L. Sang-an in Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur.

The thorough health assessments are a vital prerequisite for the trainees, ensuring that every participant meets the required physical standards necessary to safely and successfully hurdle the challenges of the citizen military training program.

Administered under the guidance of the 9th Regional Community Defense Group (9RCDG), the medical screening underscores the command's commitment to the health, safety, and welfare of all aspiring reservists as they embark on their journey of service and nation-building.

Fostering military discipline, organizational accountability, and moral integrity, the training staff and Advanced ROTC Officers of the Blancia College Foundation Incorporated (BCFI) ROTC Unit successfully conducted a comprehensive ROTC meeting on September 5, 2026, commencing at approximately 1300H.

The purposeful activity was held under the leadership of Major Junard D. Sagape (Res), ROTC Commandant, at the BCFI Campus in Brgy. Sudlon, Molave, Zamboanga del Sur.

The training program was structured to build both physical bearing and character among the cadets:

Attendance & Basic Drills: Commenced with strict attendance checks and precision basic drills to cultivate discipline, sharpness, and unit coordination.

Commencing at approximately 0730H under the leadership of Col. William G.V. Dominguez (Res), Commandant, the training activity was held at the JRMSU-KC school campus in Brgy. Dos, Katipunan, Zamboanga del Norte.

The morning's program featured vital foundational activities:

Physical Counting: Conducted to ensure strict accountability, muster discipline, and organization among the cadet corps.

AFP Core Values Lecture: Delivered to reinforce the paramount principles of Honor, Patriotism, and Duty, anchoring the cadets in the moral framework of the military service.

Kicking off the pre-activities for the 47th National Reservist Week (NRW) 2026, dedicated reservists from the 9051st RRIBn, 2303rd RRIBde, and BCMT Applicants for CY 2026 of the 905th Community Defense Center (905CDC), 9RCDG, RESCOM, PA laced up their running shoes to participate in the unity run.

Held under the theme “Takbo Para sa West Philippine Sea,” the advocacy fun run was facilitated by the Office of the Assistant Chief of Unified Command Staff for Reserve Force Development, U9, WMC, AFP, Camp Navarro, Calarian, Zamboanga City on September 5, 2026.

The high-energy event united multi-service reservists from the Philippine Army, Philippine Air Force, and Philippine Navy and Marines, alongside active military personnel, stakeholders, and civilian participants in a shared display of fitness, patriotism, and nation-building.

Adding excitement, camaraderie, and recognition to the day, several standout participants from the 9RCDG earned special awards:

Championing youth empowerment, gender equality, and inclusive governance, PFC Albert Roy S. Tiondo of the 9th Regional Community Defense Group (9RCDG), RESCOM, PA—serving in his capacity as Coordinator of the Federation of Peace Zamboanga Peninsula—proceeded to Barangay Tilubog, Naga, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Arriving at approximately 1600H on September 4, 2026, PFC Tiondo graced the Gender-Responsive Leaders Training Youth Camp 2026 as the esteemed Guest of Honor and Speaker. Carrying the theme "Equal Voices, Stronger Future," the leadership camp was organized by the Local Youth Development Office (LYDO) of the Municipality of Naga, Zamboanga Sibugay, in collaboration with the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation and the Local Youth Development Council (LYDC).

The impactful youth camp was designed to:

Equip young participants with essential knowledge, skills, and values promoting gender equality, inclusiveness, and responsive leadership.

Foster meaningful discussions and interactive activities to mold socially responsible young leaders ready to drive positive change in their communities.

Strengthening the backbone of the Philippine Army Reserve Force, the 9th Regional Community Defense Group (9RCDG), RESCOM, PA officially opened the Basic Citizen Military Training (BCMT) Class 01-2026 on September 3, 2026, at the Mess Hall, Headquarters 9RCDG, Kuta Dao, Pagadian City.

The formal program commenced with the National Anthem, followed by an inspiring invocation led by MSg. Golover R. Gerozaga, Group Sergeant Major, 9RCDG, and welcoming remarks delivered by Lt. Col. Merwin M. Bodollo, Executive Officer, 9RCDG.

The ceremonial highlights proceeded with structured precision:

Presentation of Participants: Formally conducted by Maj. Lorefel O. Judaya, Course Director for BCMT Class 01-2026.

Opening Declaration: Officially declared open by Colonel Arnold L. Gasalatan, Training Director and Group Commander, 9RCDG.

Keynote Address: Introduced by Col. Alfred E. Ramones, Deputy Group Commander, 9RCDG.

Delivering a powerful keynote message, Colonel Arnold L. Gasalatan inspired the trainees by assuring them that they will be properly guided, supported, and never left behind throughout their rigorous journey. He extended his heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated volunteers and Community Defense Center (CDC) Directors whose unwavering support made the milestone possible, emphasizing discipline, patriotism, and readiness as core pillars of the reserve force.

Demonstrating remarkable nationwide reach and adaptability, a formidable total strength of 120 trainees answered the call to service:

92 physically present participants representing Community Defense Centers from 901CDC to 905CDC.

28 dedicated participants from 906CDC based in the Province of Sulu, joining via online platforms from their designated training venue to ensure training continuity despite geographical boundaries.

The ceremony concluded on a high note with the traditional singing of Awit Kawal and Pilipinas Kong Mahal, smoothly facilitated by Sgt. Melody T. Nelmida as Master of Ceremony. This milestone reflects 9RCDG's steadfast dedication to molding disciplined, capable, and service-oriented citizen-soldiers.

Fostering core military competencies, alertness, and discipline, the Saint Columban College ROTC Unit successfully conducted its 6th Training Day on August 29, 2026, at the SCC Buenavista Campus, Brgy. Buenavista, Pagadian City, ZDS.

The training activity was conducted under the supervision of Col. Alfred E. Ramones, Commandant, featuring intensive classroom instructions focusing on Basic Intelligence and Basic Weapons Training.

The comprehensive lecture program featured expert instruction from the training staff:

Basic Weapons Training: Delivered by SSg. James P. Libongcogon, equipping cadets with essential knowledge on weapon handling, safety procedures, and the responsible use of fi****ms.

Basic Intelligence: Delivered by Pfc. Kim Vincent M. Genciane (Res) focusing on proper observation, situational awareness, and information gathering.

The activity emphasized the importance of service, readiness, and discipline, equipping cadets with practical knowledge vital for both military preparedness and personal development.
