LAMITAN CITY, BASILAN โ The Balobo Limo-ok Sayugan Irrigatorsโ Association (BALIMOSA IA) headed by IA President Mr. Rodel D. Sierra through IDO Jay D. Soriano convened its officers and Board of Trustees for a productive meeting focused on strengthening water management and irrigation operations amid changing weather conditions and the continuing challenges posed by climate variability on August 28, 2026. One of the key concerns discussed was the proper and equitable allocation of irrigation water, particularly in preparation for potential challenges brought about by the ongoing El Niรฑo phenomenon. IDO Jay D. Soriano also emphasized the importance of addressing water shortages and encouraged the conduct of Pintakasi, calling on all IA members to work together in cleaning and maintaining the canals to help ensure the continuous and efficient flow of irrigation water.
The meeting likewise underscored the importance of strictly implementing the IA Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Policy to ensure the proper operation and maintenance of irrigation facilities for the continued benefit of farmers. The BALIMOSA IA officers expressed their full support for a stronger bayanihan spirit, recognizing that cooperation and collective action will be essential in facing water-related challenges ahead. Through the guidance of NIA R-IX Management the unity, shared responsibility, and bayanihan, BALIMOSA IA continues to work toward reliable water distribution and sustainable irrigation service for its farmer-members.
