READ|| MOLAVE, Zamboanga del Sur โ in support of DOLE Secretary Francis N. Tolentinoโs directives to advance workersโ welfare and social protection, strengthen social dialogue, and promote responsive and accessible public service, the Department of Labor and Employment-9 (DOLE) Zamboanga del Sur Field Office (ZDSFO) convened the Molave Tripartite Industrial Peace Council (MTIPC) Quarterly Meeting on August 28, 2026, this municipality.
The activity brought together representatives from workers, employers, and government agencies sectors to strengthen collaboration, facilitate meaningful social dialogue, and promote coordinated delivery of programs and services toward sustained industrial peace and inclusive development in the municipality.
Presided over by DOLE ZDSFO Chief Aileen B. Mondejar, the meeting served as a venue for social dialogue, inter-agency coordination, and the exchange of updates on government programs and services for workers, employers, and other stakeholders.
Partner agencies presented updates on their key programs and services. Pag-IBIG Fund discussed its SAFE Loan; the Social Security System (SSS) provided updates on its office development and UPLIFT Program; while the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) reminded employers of the employees' registration and TIN compliance through the Online Registration and Update System (ORUS).
Moreover, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) highlighted the importance of proper skills assessment and certification and cautioned employers against accepting fraudulent certificates. The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) discussed premium contribution records and the Yaman ng Kalusugan (YAKAP) program, while the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) presented programs supporting enterprise development, investment, and consumer protection.
The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) conducted a workshop on selected artificial intelligence (AI) applications and productivity tools, including Gemini, Canvas, Deep Research, AI-assisted music creation, Gems, and Notebook LM, highlighting their potential use in research, content development, and workplace productivity.
Engr. Yusep A. Abduhasad of DOLE ZDSFO discussed key labor updates, including the second tranche of Wage Order No. RIX-24 effective June 1, 2026, and the importance of employer compliance and workersโ awareness of wage entitlements. He also presented Labor Advisories Nos. 12 and 14 and Department Order No. 248-B, Series of 2026, covering child protection which reinforces existing child-protection standards; work suspension during weather disturbances that allows employers to suspend work to protect employees from imminent danger; and streamlined administration of Alien Employment Permits (AEPs) intending to promote consistency, accountability, transparency, and efficiency in the administration of AEPs nationwide.
The quarterly meeting concluded reaffirming its commitment to responsive government service, workers protection, enterprise support, and sustained tripartite cooperation toward industrial peace and inclusive economic development in Molave and Zamboanga del Sur.
