Matagumpay na nagtapos ang Coast Guard Station Misamis Occidental, sa pamumuno ni 𝐋𝐓𝐉𝐆 𝐉𝐎𝐍𝐈𝐄𝐋 𝐂 𝐃𝐄𝐓𝐔𝐌𝐀𝐋 𝐏𝐂𝐆, Station Commander, ng Pre-Departure Inspection (PDI) Training na isinagawa mula Mayo 25–29, 2026 sa CGS MISOCC, Brgy. Baybay Triunfo, Ozamiz City, Misamis Occidental.

Layunin ng limang araw na pagsasanay na mapalawak ang kaalaman, kakayahan, at kahandaan sa operasyon ng mga tauhan ng Coast Guard sa wastong pagsasagawa ng Pre-Departure Inspection upang matiyak ang kaligtasan, seguridad, at pagsunod ng mga sasakyang pandagat sa mga alituntunin bago bumiyahe.

Patuloy na nakatuon ang CGS MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL sa pagpapalakas ng maritime safety operations at sa pagtiyak ng kaligtasan ng buhay at ari-arian sa karagatan sa pamamagitan ng tuloy-tuloy na capability enhancement at mga programang pagsasanay.

𝐖𝐀𝐓𝐂𝐇: The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) K9 Working Dog “Summit” found a body from the wreckage of the collapsed building in Angeles City, today, May 27, 2026.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said the body was found at around 6:18PM.

The Coast Guard Station Misamis Occidental (CGS MisOcc), under the leadership of 𝐋𝐓𝐉𝐆 𝐉𝐎𝐍𝐈𝐄𝐋 𝐂 𝐃𝐄𝐓𝐔𝐌𝐀𝐋 𝐏𝐂𝐆, Station Commander, through MSSU-NM headed by 𝐄𝐍𝐒 𝐅𝐄𝐑𝐍𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐎 𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐈𝐍 𝐀 𝐄𝐓𝐔𝐋𝐋𝐄 𝐏𝐂𝐆 and 𝐏𝐎𝟑 𝐃𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐆. 𝐆𝐚𝐥𝐨 𝐏𝐂𝐆, Acting POIC S12, conducted Pre-Departure Inspections (PDI) on 25 May 2026 at CGS Misamis Occidental, Brgy. Baybay Triunfo, Ozamiz City.

The activity aimed to ensure the safety and security of passengers, crew, and vessels prior to departure by verifying compliance with maritime safety regulations and standards. Inspections included the checking of vessel documents, passenger capacity, safety equipment, and overall seaworthiness of vessels operating within the area of responsibility.

CGS MisOcc remains steadfast in carrying out its mandate to protect lives and property at sea and to ensure the safety of the riding public through regular monitoring and inspection activities.

The Coast Guard Station Misamis Occidental (CGS MisOcc), under the leadership of 𝐋𝐓𝐉𝐆 𝐉𝐎𝐍𝐈𝐄𝐋 𝐂 𝐃𝐄𝐓𝐔𝐌𝐀𝐋 𝐏𝐂𝐆, Station Commander together with 𝐏𝐎𝟐 𝐋𝐞𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐥 𝐁 𝐁𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐧𝐚 𝐏𝐂𝐆 Sub-Station Commander CGSS Tangub, CGSS Ozamiz, and CGS MisOcc personnel, attended the Joint Coordination Meeting among the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Philippine National Police (PNP), Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Department of Justice (DOJ), and Bureau of Customs (BOC) on 25 May 2026 held at the 2nd Floor, Function Room, Tangub Global City College, Tangub City, Misamis Occidental.

The meeting aimed to discuss and strengthen inter-agency coordination in the enforcement of tax laws and the conduct of operations against illicit ci******es and other excisable products within the Province of Misamis Occidental.

One of the key agenda discussed during the coordination meeting was the growing concern on illicit trading of to***co and other excisable products and the collaborative efforts needed among law enforcement agencies and partner institutions to effectively address the issue.

The activity was highlighted by the presence of 𝐑𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐒. 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐬, 𝐌𝐍𝐍𝐒𝐀, Illicit Trade Prevention Specialist, who shared valuable insights and strategies regarding anti-illicit trade operations and enforcement initiatives.

The participation of CGS MisOcc in the said activity underscores the Philippine Coast Guard’s commitment to supporting inter-agency efforts in maintaining law enforcement, protecting government revenues, and promoting public welfare through strengthened coordination and cooperation.

The Coast Guard Station Misamis Occidental (CGS MISOCC), under the leadership of 𝐋𝐓𝐉𝐆 𝐉𝐎𝐍𝐈𝐄𝐋 𝐂 𝐃𝐄𝐓𝐔𝐌𝐀𝐋 𝐏𝐂𝐆, Station Commander, successfully conducted the Opening Ceremony of the PCG Lifeguard Training Class 01-2026 on 25 May 2026 at the Covered Court, Brgy. Ibabao, Aloran, Misamis Occidental.

The activity aims to strengthen the capabilities, preparedness, and responsiveness of participating lifeguards in ensuring water safety, disaster preparedness, and emergency response operations within coastal and aquatic areas.

The opening program was attended by representatives from the Local Government Unit of Aloran headed by 𝐇𝐨𝐧. 𝐉𝐨𝐞𝐥 𝐃. 𝐓𝐞𝐣𝐚𝐧𝐨 SB Member and 𝐌𝐫. 𝐋𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐍 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐝𝐨 Municipal Administrator of Aloran, Local Government Unit of Panaon headed by 𝐇𝐎𝐍. 𝐅𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐈𝐒𝐂𝐎 𝐓. 𝐏𝐀𝐘𝐋𝐀𝐆𝐀 𝐉𝐑., Municipal Mayor, MDRRMO personnel led by 𝐄𝐧𝐏. 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐢𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐭 𝐁. 𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐧, participating agencies, facilitators, SOU-MISOCC led by 𝐂𝐏𝐎 𝐃𝐞𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐬 𝐂 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐯𝐚 𝐏𝐂𝐆, MSSU-NM headed by 𝐄𝐍𝐒 𝐄𝐋𝐉𝐀𝐘 𝐀 𝐁𝐑𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐄𝐒 𝐏𝐂𝐆 OIC, RSEI, 𝐏𝐎𝟏 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐁𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐂 𝐃𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐨 𝐏𝐂𝐆 Sub-Station Commander of CGSS Aloran, 𝐏𝐎𝟑 𝐄𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐞 𝐁 𝐆𝐨 𝐏𝐂𝐆 Sub-Station Commander of CGSS Panaon and lifeguard trainees from municipalities of Aloran and Panaon. Messages of support and encouragement were delivered by local officials and partner agencies emphasizing the importance of trained lifeguards in safeguarding communities, especially during emergencies and water-related incidents.

SC, MISOCC highlighted the Philippine Coast Guard’s commitment in promoting public safety and enhancing the competence of local responders through continuous training and collaboration with local government units and stakeholders.

The training is expected to equip participants with essential knowledge and practical skills in water rescue, lifesaving techniques, first aid, and emergency response operations in line with the mission of the Philippine Coast Guard to protect lives and ensure maritime safety.

The Coast Guard Station Misamis Occidental in the leadership of 𝐋𝐓𝐉𝐆 𝐉𝐎𝐍𝐈𝐄𝐋 𝐂 𝐃𝐄𝐓𝐔𝐌𝐀𝐋 𝐏𝐂𝐆, Station Commander, participated in a Simulation Exercise (SIMEX) on a "Oplan Sagang Misamisnon " scenario held at San Vicente Bajo, Oroquieta City, Misamis Occidental on 20 May 2026.

The activity was conducted in collaboration Inter-Agency with Philippine Army 10ID, Philippine Airforce 10, PNP Misamis Occidental, BFP, featuring the Philippine Coast Guard, SOU-NM, PCG K9 unit and PCG EOD special participation in demonstrating maritime defense response capabilities.

This simulation highlights the readiness, coordination and shared commitment of our forces and agencies in protecting lives and ensuring public safety across Misamis Occidental.

At same day the station also participated in static display held at MORAP, Oroquieta City Misamis Occidental.

The PCG static display must have been quite informative and impressive. It's always fascinating to learn about the roles and responsibilities of PCG.
