Once a Teacher, Always a Teacher: The Leo Ocampos Story

Would you believe that the Former Governor of Misamis Occidental was once a government teacher for 26 years? Would you also believe that he is a businessman and now the owner of Hoyohoy Highland Stone Chapel Organic Farm and Adventure Park? I bet you knew all this stuff just this moment. Did you know that he went into farming and actually an Organic Farming Practitioner? There must be lots of things that you still need to know all about our humble, humorous and dynamic Former Governor Loreto Leo Ocampos of Tangub City.

Gov. Ocampos graduated in 1978 with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering. He worked as an Instructor and eventually became the Vice President for Student Affairs in Misamis University.

“Teaching is a very challenging job, it’s not the skill but how to inspire your students to learn is the biggest challenge of being a teacher”, Gov. Ocampos stated. For him, he had done something important in that area which he claimed as his greatest contribution of being a teacher. Moreover, being the Vice President for Student Affairs gave him the chance to handle extra-curricular activities in the university at that time. “That is how I develop my interaction with people especially young people like you”, he added.
