The Sangguniang Bayan of LGU Don Victoriano headed by Honorable Vice Mayor Elmer M. Pondara conducted a Regular Session today May 25, 2026 at 9:30 in the morning at the Sangguniang Bayan Session Hall, Don Victoriano.

During the session, the body discussed various letter requests received from other offices, as well as Resolutions and Ordinances submitted by the Barangay Council.

The agenda included seven (7) items under requests, three (3) items under Business for the day
and three (3) items for third and final reading.

Anchored on its mandate of public service and good governance, the Sangguniang Bayan of Don Victoriano held its Regular Session last May 18, 2026, presided over by the Honorable Vice Mayor Elmer M. Pondara.

During the session, the August Body deliberated and acted upon committee reports with various resolutions, one (1) item for Business for the day and likewise enacted seven(7) Ordinances on 2nd Reading. These legislative measures are expected to further strengthen local governance initiatives and support the continuing development of Don Victoriano.

Earlier today, the Sangguniang Bayan held its Regular Session, led by Vice Mayor Elmer M. Pondara, where important matters for the community were discussed and acted upon.

For today’s legislative agenda:
• One (1) proposed resolution was taken up on First Reading for further review.
• Six (6) resolutions were approved on Third and Final Reading.
• Six (6) resolution is set to be endorsed.

The session also became an opportunity to hear directly from the Barangay Officials of Brgy. Nueva Vista regarding the recent grass fire incident. They sought guidance from the Council on how to better handle and prevent similar situations moving forward. The discussion highlighted the importance of coordination, preparedness, and responsible practices within the community.

Joining the discussion were MLGOO Ma’am Luzviminda Ensencio, Police Chief Al-Rhafat Sapie, and SFO4 Michaelle Jane Gutierrez, who shared their insights and recommendations to help ensure safety and proper response.

The Sangguniang Bayan continues to work hand in hand with our barangays and partner agencies to keep our community safe, informed, and well-supported. 🤝🧡

📜 During the session, the council carefully reviewed and deliberated on three (3) requests for the passage of SB Resolutions, along with one (1) proposed ordinance—each aimed at strengthening programs and initiatives for the welfare of the people.

Together, these efforts reflect a shared commitment to responsive and effective governance.

The 12th Sangguniang Bayan of Don Victoriano approved measures in support of effective governance and responsive public service.

📌 Approved Measures:

*Ordinance Adopting SP Ordinance Institutionalization of the Province-wide Health System, including its Management Support Systems, and Appropriating funds thereof.

*Resolution Authorizing the LCE to sign the MOA with DSWD for the implementation of 16th Cycle Supplementary Feeding Program.

The Vice Mayors’ League – Misamis Occidental Chapter successfully held its first session for 2026 here in our municipality, bringing together the dedicated Vice Mayors from across the province. 🤝✨

It was more than just a meeting — it was a gathering of leaders united by one goal: to serve their communities better this year and beyond. Important plans were laid out, ideas were exchanged, and commitments were strengthened for the progress of every city and municipality in Misamis Occidental.

And after the formal session concluded, the leaders took time to unwind and celebrate with a late New Year party sharing laughter, stories, and moments of camaraderie. 🎉 It was a beautiful reminder that beyond their titles, they are individuals who value connection, teamwork, and genuine fellowship.

Here’s to stronger partnerships, inspired leadership, and a productive 2026 for all!

In line with DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2025-062, which provides the guidelines for the 2025 Local Legislative Award (LLA), the Sangguniang Bayan participated in the 2025 Local Legislative Award – Assessment, where evaluators personally reviewed the processes and practices of our Legislative Department.

The evaluation focused on the following award criteria:
✅ Responsiveness of Legislative Agenda
✅ Availability of Legislative Documents
✅ Effectiveness of Performance of the Sanggunian
✅ Efficiency of Performance of Sanggunian
✅ Legislative Citations and Awards
✅ Capacity Development for Legislators and Staff
✅ Innovation
