The City Agriculture and Fisheries Office (CAFO) successfully facilitated the PROJECT SARAI Presentation, Automated Weather Station (AWS) Site Validation, and El Niño Historical Adaptation Strategies’ Assessment conducted by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) – Smarter Approaches to Reinvigorate Agriculture as an Industry in the Philippines (SARAI) Project yesterday at Habitacion Hotel, Layawan, Oroquieta City.

The activity brought together key stakeholders to present the goals and initiatives of the DOST-SARAI Project, validate the proposed site for the installation of an Automated Weather Station (AWS), and assess the City's historical adaptation strategies in addressing the impacts of El Niño. These initiatives aim to strengthen weather and climate monitoring, support science-based agricultural decision-making, and enhance the resilience of the local agriculture sector against climate-related challenges.

CAFO extends its sincere appreciation to the DOST-SARAI team, partner agencies, local stakeholders, and all participants for their invaluable support and active participation. Through strong collaboration and innovation, Oroquieta City continues to advance sustainable and climate-smart agriculture for the benefit of its farmers and fisherfolk.
