On May 15, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Punong Barangay Edgar T. Camus, Sangguniang Barangay Member Antonio L. Aรฑasco, and Barangay Secretary Marrian Claudette M. Manibog attended the Kickoff Activity of the Road Traffic Injury Prevention (RTIP) Program held at Fanโs Hotel, Ormoc City. Organized by the City Health Department โ Ipil Health District and sponsored by the Health Education and Promotion Officer (HEPO), the event aligned with the Department of Healthโs (DOH) 8-Point Action Agenda (2023โ2028) aimed at steering local communities toward safer roads.
The program commenced with registration and formal preliminaries, featuring a welcome message from Dr. Sarah Q. Hermoso, MD, MPH. Throughout the day, the attending officials participated in a series of comprehensive technical briefings, including an Introduction to Road Safety by the RTIP Program Coordinator, a local Road Traffic Report (2024โ2026) presented by the Traffic Police Office of Ormoc City, and a Road Safety Communication Plan layout by Mrs. Ma. Aileen De Paz, HEPO. Additionally, Mr. Mark Angelo Cotiangco, CESU Designate, facilitated an orientation on the proper utilization of the Road Traffic Reporting Form.
Following a midday lunch break, the event moved into a plenary session moderated by Master of Ceremonies Mrs. Genne Mae Romero, RM, and officially concluded with a closing message from Dr. Cecile Louise Dejaรฑo, Technical Head of the City Health Department.
Through this active participation, the barangay delegation successfully acquired the crucial guidelines, data insights, and reporting protocols necessary to effectively implement and promote road safety initiatives within their local jurisdiction.
