PISA 2025 Partners Appreciation Ceremony

The PISA 2025 Partners Appreciation Ceremony was held at Valencia National High School on October 2, 2026, to recognize the collective efforts of schools, learners, parents, and education partners in successfully implementing PISA 2025 in Region VIII.

DepEd Undersecretary Marcelino G. Veloso III graced the event and expressed his heartfelt appreciation to all stakeholders for their invaluable contributions and unwavering support.

Also in attendance was SP Member and Chairman of the Committee on Education, Hon. Edmund Kierulf, along with Asst. Schools Division Superintendent Lorelei Masias, Education Program Supervisors, Public Schools District Supervisors, Unit Heads, learners, and stakeholders.

The gathering underscored the power of collaboration to advance quality education and improve learning outcomes for all.

The Schools Division Office, through the Social Mobilization and Networking Unit, facilitated the election of the Teachers' Association Officers for School Year 2026-2027. The newly elected officers will serve as the voice and representatives of the teaching personnel, spearheading initiatives that promote professional growth, foster collaboration, advocate for teachers' welfare, and strengthen partnerships that support the Division's educational goals.

The newly elected Teachers' Association President, Mr. Jimmy Sasing, emphasized inclusivity in the Association's plans and programs, expressing the intention to extend activities and initiatives to both teaching and non-teaching personnel. This reflects the Association's commitment to fostering unity, mutual support, and professional development among all employees, recognizing the vital contributions of both teaching and non-teaching personnel in achieving quality education and efficient public service.

Arthur Caoctoy Arcuino, together with FPTA VP Mr. Jose Manuel Horca and BOD Mr. Elmer Libre, paid a courtesy visit to Schools Division Superintendent Carmelino Paculan Bernadas to discuss strategies for strengthening the Parents-Teachers Association, enhancing parent engagement, and fostering closer collaboration among schools, parents, and other education stakeholders in support of quality education.

ONE VOICE. ONE PURPOSE. ONE PTA.

The Schools Division of Ormoc City successfully conducted the Federated Parent-Teacher Association (FPTA) Officers Election on September 24, 2026, at the Division Library Hub, bringing together District parent-leaders united by a shared commitment to strengthening parent engagement, partnership, and support for every learner.

The gathering highlighted the PTA's vital role as a partner of the Schools Division in fostering a supportive, inclusive, and learner-centered school community.

OIC Dr. Abel Dayandayan delivered the Message of Support on behalf of SDS Carmelino Paculan Bernadas, reaffirming the Schools Division’s commitment to working hand in hand with parents and stakeholders in advancing programs and initiatives that promote the success, well-being, and holistic development of every learner.

Dr. Ana Liezel Villarmino Villaver shared “One Voice, One Purpose: Why Federated PTA Matters,” emphasizing the importance of collective action, unified leadership, and meaningful parent participation in shaping better educational experiences for learners.

Adding warmth and camaraderie to the gathering, Ms. Ghislaine Aballe facilitated the “Getting to Know You” activity, giving District parent-leaders an opportunity to connect, build rapport, and strengthen relationships as they begin their journey as one FPTA team.

The election marked the start of a new chapter of collaboration, partnership, and shared purpose, a reminder that when parents, teachers, and school leaders work together, learners have a stronger foundation to learn, grow, and succeed.

It’s Friday — and today is far more than just the end of the workweek. It is Kadiwa Trade Fair and the lobby of Ormoc City Hall has bloomed into something truly special: a vibrant showcase of fresh harvest, handcrafted goods, and the bright, promising dreams of our learners. What visitors see here is not just produce neatly arranged on tables — it is the fruit of hard work, patience, and purposeful learning, proudly brought to life by the implementers of the DepEd Ormoc City Farm School Program.

This meaningful display was made possible through the vision of Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Carmelino P. Bernadas, the program’s dedicated proponent. He called upon every participating school to bring their best forward — not merely to offer products for sale, but to let the community see what their learners can do. This is more than a market day; it is a moment to celebrate talent, to build confidence, and to prove that when we nurture our young people, they rise to every challenge.

None of this would have grown without a steady, faithful partner by our side. For three years in a row, LGU Ormoc City under the leadership of City Mayor Hon. Lucy Torres-Gomez has stood firmly behind the Farm School Program. This consistent support reaches deep into our rural communities, ensuring that learners can continue their schooling right at home — growing not just in knowledge, but in opportunity, so they never have to choose between their education and their future.

The program goes far beyond teaching how to plant seeds or tend to crops. It nurtures something even more powerful: an entrepreneurial spirit that will last a lifetime. Our learners discover how to value their work, price their products fairly, speak with confidence, and serve every customer with pride. Nilinaw ng Department of Education (DepEd) at Department of Budget and Management (DBM) na hindi totoong “zero funding” para sa hiring ng public school teachers ang proposed Fiscal Year (FY) 2027 National Budget. Sa katunayan, may nakalaang P31.220 billion para punan ang 64,530 authorized teaching positions.
