OPOL Negosyo Center Opol Negosyo Center will be responsible in promoting ease of doing business and access to services The Negosyo Center shall have the following functions:

Promote ease of doing business and access to services for MSMEs within its jurisdiction;
b. Coordinate and processes of government related to the set-up and management of MSMEs;
c. Accept and facilitate all registration application of MSMEs;
d. Provide information and services in training, financing and marketing. Build local support networks and establish market linkages for MSMEs;
f. Coordinate

with schools and organizations on the development of youth entrepreneurship program;
g. Encourage women entrepreneurship by giving women access to information, support, training and credit facilities;

May 28, 2026 | Personnel from the Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO) / Local Economic and Investment Promotions Office (LEIPO) / Negosyo Center (NC) headed by BPLO/LEIPO/NC Manager - Designate Ms. Ethel Rae C. Reyes, MGM, participated in the Ease of Doing Business (EODB) Forum 2026 conducted via Zoom platform.

Anchored on the theme, “From Policy to Power: Aligning Governance and Innovation to Accelerate Energy Projects,” the forum highlighted the vital role of effective governance, streamlined regulatory processes, and innovative approaches in facilitating the development of energy projects and improving the overall business environment.

May 25, 2026 | The Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO) / Local Economic and Investment Promotions Office (LEIPO) / Negosyo Center (NC) headed by BPLO/LEIPO/NC Manager-Designate, Ms. Ethel Rae C. Reyes, MGM, successfully facilitated the Financial Literacy and Government Support Orientation for Fisherfolks and Farmers Cooperative Officers with the theme, “From Sea and Land to Enterprise Growth,” with the Department of Trade and Industry DTI Misamis Oriental, held at 2nd Floor, LTI Building, Taboc, Opol, Misamis Oriental.

In line with the celebration of Fisherfolks and Farmers Month, the activity aimed to empower cooperative officers through discussions on financial literacy, government programs, and available support services that can help strengthen and sustain their respective organizations and livelihoods.

This initiative was made possible through the collaborative efforts of DTI spearheaded by Provincial Director Jesusa M. Abear who provided an insightful resource speaker, Ms. Lotischen M. Ganotan, who generously shared her expertise.

We also thank the Municipal Cooperative Development Office (MCDO) headed by Ms. Mailyn C. Quiblat, MCDO - Designate, for partnering with us in delivering programs that uplift the lives of our fisherfolks, farmers, and cooperatives in the municipality.

Finally, we express our heartfelt gratitude to Municipal Mayor, Hon. Atty. Jayfrancis D. Bago JAY BAGO for his continued support to programs that promote inclusive growth, financial empowerment, and sustainable livelihood opportunities for our local communities.

May 21, 2026 | In celebration of the National Data Privacy Awareness Week, the Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO) / Local Economic and Investment Promotions Office (LEIPO) / Negosyo Center (NC) headed by BPLO/LEIPO/NC Manager-Designate, Ms. Ethel Rae C. Reyes, MGM, conducted a Data Privacy Awareness Activity with the theme, “Empowering Future IT Professionals Through Responsible Data Privacy,” held at the Opol Community College (OCC) Audio Visual Room (AVR), Poblacion, Opol, Misamis Oriental.

The activity gathered Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) students to educate and inspire these future IT professionals on the importance of safeguarding personal information, promoting ethical digital practices, and strengthening awareness of data privacy responsibilities in today’s technology-driven environment.

Serving as the resource speaker was Ms. Ailel Rose S. Asequia, the Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator (MPDC) and Designated Data Protection Officer (DPO) of the Municipality of Opol. During her discussion, Ms. Asequia emphasized the vital role of data privacy in both public service and the information technology industry, highlighting the importance of accountability, cybersecurity awareness, and responsible handling of personal data.

The successful conduct of the activity was made possible through the support and leadership of Municipal Mayor, Hon. Atty. Jayfrancis D. Bago JAY BAGO, whose continued advocacy for education, youth development, and digital responsibility allowed initiatives such as this to reach and benefit the students of the municipality.

We likewise extend our sincere gratitude to OCC College President, Dr. Neilson D. Bation, for the collaboration and partnership in making the activity meaningful and successful.

May 14, 2026 | Business Permits and Licensing Officer (BPLO) / Local Economic and Investment Promotions Officer (LEIPO) / Negosyo Center (NC) Manager - Designate, Ms. Ethel Rae C. Reyes, MGM, participated in today’s online FIRB Virtual Town Hall Meeting on the Department of the Interior and Local Government-Department of Finance-Department of Trade and Industry Joint Memorandum Circular No. 1, s. 2026 for Local Government Units (LGUs) – “Guidelines on the Imposition of Local Taxes, Fees and Charges on Registered Business Enterprises (RBEs) Availing of Tax Incentives.”

The virtual meeting provided valuable updates and clarifications on the proper implementation of policies concerning local taxation and regulatory procedures involving RBEs, ensuring that LGUs remain aligned with national directives and investment promotion initiatives.

The support of Honorable Mayor, Atty. Jayfrancis D. Bago JAY BAGO reflects the municipality’s continuing commitment to strengthening local governance, promoting business-friendly policies, and enhancing the capacity of offices involved in local economic development and investment facilitation.
