The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Zambales, through Negosyo Center Iba, in collaboration with the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Zambales, successfully conducted a Financial Awareness Seminar, Entrepreneurial Mindset, and How to Start a Small Business Seminar in conjunction with the AKSYON Fund Payout for qualified beneficiaries on May 26, 2026, at the DMW Provincial Office, Brgy. Palanginan, Iba, Zambales.

The activity was spearheaded by Mr. Enrico N. Morilla, OIC-Head of DMW Zambales, as part of the agency’s continuing efforts to support and empower OFWs, returning migrants, and their families through financial literacy and entrepreneurship development initiatives.

As part of the program, Ms. Neila Jhen E. De Leon facilitated the Financial Awareness Seminar, where she discussed the importance of financial literacy, proper budgeting, savings, and responsible money management to help beneficiaries achieve financial stability and make informed financial decisions.

Meanwhile, NCBC Ethyl Dane S. Abadam conducted the Entrepreneurial Mindset and How to Start a Small Business Seminar, emphasizing the characteristics of successful entrepreneurs, identifying business opportunities, and the basic steps in establishing and managing a small enterprise. The session encouraged participants to explore entrepreneurship as a sustainable source of income and a pathway toward economic empowerment.

The seminar complemented the AKSYON Fund assistance by equipping beneficiaries with both financial management and entrepreneurial skills, enabling them to maximize the support received and build sustainable livelihood opportunities for themselves and their families.

LOOK | DTI Zambales through the Consumer Protection Division conducted price and supply monitoring of Basic Necessities and Prime Commodities in San Antonio and San Narciso, Zambales on May 26, 2026.

The activity aims to ensure that the prices of basic necessities and prime commodities remain within the Suggested Retail Prices (SRPs) and are properly displayed for consumers’ guidance. During the inspection, the team visited various grocery stores and supermarkets to check prevailing prices and assess compliance with existing price regulations. In terms of supply, supermarket and grocery owners confirmed that their stocks are sufficient to last for at least one month, indicating strong inventory preparedness.

Continuous monitoring, validation of product availability, and timely reporting will be sustained by the DTI Zambales to ensure accurate market information and consumer protection.

On May 26, 2026, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), through Negosyo Center Cabangan, in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), successfully conducted an Entrepreneurial Mindset Seminar and BEST (Business Expenses and Savings Training) Game for 19 4Ps beneficiaries from Brgy. Laoag at Laoag Elementary School, Cabangan, Zambales.

The activity, facilitated by Negosyo Center Business Counselor John Paul R. Bagayo, aimed to help participants develop an entrepreneurial mindset and strengthen their understanding of proper budgeting, saving, and basic business management through an engaging and interactive learning experience.

Through activities like the BEST Game, participants were encouraged to think creatively, manage resources wisely, and discover business opportunities that can help improve their families’ future and communities.

The Department of Trade and Industry, through Negosyo Center Cabangan, in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), conducted an Entrepreneurial Mindset Seminar and BEST (Business Expenses and Savings Training) Game for 36 4Ps beneficiaries from Barangays Dolores and San Juan at the Covered Court of Barangay Dolores, Cabangan on May 21, 2026.

The activity was facilitated by Negosyo Center Business Counselors John Paul R. Bagayo and Jayson Tenerife.

Through the BEST Game, participants experienced firsthand how entrepreneurs make decisions every day. They learned how to allocate limited capital, manage expenses, maintain positive cash flow, and keep simple but accurate records. The simulation also demonstrated the basic business cycle—from investing capital, generating sales, saving profits, and reinvesting earnings to grow the business.

More than just a game, the activity gave participants practical lessons they can apply to real-life livelihood opportunities. It also encouraged them to think like entrepreneurs and make informed financial decisions that can help improve their families’ future.

Sto. Niño and Longos at Barangay Sto. Niño, Cabangan, Zambales On May 20, 2026.

Negosyo Center Business Counselors John Paul R. Bagayo and NC TIDA Johanna Llabres, along with Ms. Virginia Razon of DSWD, facilitated the activity.

Through the BEST Game, participants were able to experience a simulated business environment where every decision mattered. They learned how choices related to spending, saving, and planning can directly affect the success of a business. The interactive activity made financial concepts easier to understand and showed that wise decisions are key to building a sustainable livelihood.

By strengthening their entrepreneurial mindset and financial management skills, the participants are now better equipped to turn simple ideas into meaningful opportunities for their families and communities.

Department of Trade and Industry Zambales through Negosyo Center Iba, in collaboration with the Provincial Agriculture Office of Zambales, successfully conducted a four-topic seminar for Batch 2 Farmers and Fisherfolks Cooperative and Associations (FCAs) in Zambales on May 19, 2026 at the Provincial Agriculture Building, Iba, Zambales.

The activity covered the topics Business Model Canvas, Digital Marketing Seminar, and the interactive BEST Game Activity. The seminar aimed to strengthen the entrepreneurial knowledge and business management skills of FCAs to help improve and sustain their livelihood opportunities.

Spearheaded by Arnel V. Abayan, the seminar was facilitated by Business Counselor – Iba, Ethyl Dane S. Abadam. The Digital Marketing Seminar was facilitated by Michaela S. Macedo, providing participants with valuable knowledge on promoting products and businesses through digital platforms.

Taong 2013 nang magsimula ang Zambales Coconut Free Farmers Association sa San Narciso, Zambales na binubuo ng 70 miyembrong magsasaka na ang pangunahing hanapbuhay ay pagsasaka. Sa kabila ng mga pagsubok, pinatunayan nilang ang pagkakaisa, sipag, at tiyaga ay susi sa pag-unlad.

Ngayon, mas kilala bilang ZambaCoco o Zambales Coconut Free Farmers Agriculture Cooperative, patuloy silang gumagawa ng dekalidad at lokal na produktong ipinagmamalaki ng Zambales.

MSME Resilience and AI Innovation Webinar Series 2026 – Series 1

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Zambales, led by Provincial Director Enrique D. Tacbad, Division Chief Evangeline S. Bulda and NC TIDS Jhoana Rosalyn Pona., successfully facilitated the MSME Resilience and AI Innovation Webinar Series 2026 – Series 1 on May 26, 2026, with 44 participants from various MSMEs and stakeholder groups.

The webinar focused on strengthening MSMEs through discussions on navigating the Mid-East crisis, Personal Social Responsibility, and the Small Business Corporation (SBCorp) Loan Programs. The activity provided participants with valuable insights and practical strategies to help businesses become more resilient and adaptive amid current economic challenges.

Resource speakers were Dr. Maria Lutgarda Manuela B. Punay, Charter President of Soroptimist International–Pampanga and the Program Coordinator of the Graduate School of Business, Holy Angel University, and Mr. Erson G. Salamatin, Senior Provincial Coordinator of Small Business Corporation–Zambales.

Mr. James T. Lee, President of the MSMED Council-Olongapo, delivered the closing remarks and emphasized the importance of resilience, innovation, and collaboration in helping MSMEs thrive amid evolving business challenges.

Through initiatives like this webinar series, DTI Zambales continues to empower MSMEs by promoting innovation, resilience, and sustainable business growth.

DTI Zambales Conducts Learning Visit on Fish Processing under the SSF Program. As part of the continuing implementation of the Shared Service Facility (SSF) Program, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – Zambales conducted a Learning Visit on Fish Processing in the Province of Bataan last May 22, 2026.

The activity aimed to provide participants with valuable learning experiences and exposure to successful fish processing enterprises to further strengthen the local fisheries industry and improve MSME competitiveness in Zambales.

The delegation visited notable establishments including Amanda’s Marine Products and Linda-Nap Smoked and Dried Fish Trading, where participants observed actual operations and learned best practices in fish processing, product quality improvement, packaging, marketing strategies, and business sustainability.

Present during the activity were BDD-DC Evangeline Bulda, TIDS Diana Airese Amen, BC Nick Fernandez, BC Adrian Melanio and representatives from Candelaria School of Fisheries and Olongapo City Fisherfolks Association whose participation and support contributed to the success of the study mission and strengthened collaboration in promoting the local fish processing industry.

Through the SSF Program, DTI continues to empower communities and support local entrepreneurs by providing opportunities for innovation, capability development, and industry exposure that contribute to the growth of the local tinapa and dried fish processing sector.

The Department of Trade and Industry, through Negosyo Center Cabangan, in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), conducted an Entrepreneurial Mindset Seminar and BEST (Business Expenses and Savings Training) Game at the Covered Court of Barangay Cadmang-Reserva, Cabangan on May 22, 2026. The event was for 82 4Ps beneficiaries from Barangay Cadmang-Reserva.

The activity was facilitated by Negosyo Center Business Counselors John Paul R. Bagayo and NC TIDA Johanna Llabres.

Through the BEST Game, participants experienced how entrepreneurs make important financial decisions using limited resources. The simulation allowed them to practice budgeting capital, balancing expenses, maintaining positive cash flow, and understanding the importance of proper record-keeping. Participants also learned how profits and savings can be reinvested to help a business grow over time.

The activity didn't just teach theories; it also got people to plan ahead and understand that even small choices about money can open up important possibilities for their families. The seminar reminded participants that being a business starts with being disciplined, patient, and ready to learn.
