In solidarity with the nationwide celebration of #𝗡𝗜𝗖𝗧𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Romblon Provincial Office, in strong partnership with the Local Government Unit of Odiongan and Romblon State University, successfully conducted the Face-to-Face component of the 𝗦𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗞 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗩𝗶𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 (𝗚𝗩𝗔) 𝟮.𝟬 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 from June 1 to 5, 2026.

A total of 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗿𝘁𝘆-𝗼𝗻𝗲 (𝟯𝟭) 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿𝘀 attended the intensive 5-day physical bootcamp held at the CCMADI Bldg., Romblon State University Main Campus. 𝗠𝗿. 𝗗𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗶𝘀 𝗕. 𝗣𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗼, an industry-seasoned digital specialist and dedicated DICT trainer, served as the Resource Speaker, delivering essential technical lectures and hands-on guidance to the participants.

The 𝗦𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗞 (𝘚𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘗𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘱𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘤𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘈𝘥𝘢𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘋𝘪𝘨𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘭 𝘒𝘯𝘰𝘸𝘭𝘦𝘥𝘨𝘦) 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘮 is a strategic upskilling initiative of the DICT rebranded from the digitaljobsPH project. Aligned with Republic Act No. 11927 (Philippine Digital Workforce Competitiveness Act), it focuses on the aggressive upskilling of the workforce to mitigate unemployment and foster economic growth in the provinces.

This 5-day onsite session constitutes the first half of the comprehensive 10-day program. To further promote digital inclusion and workforce readiness, the training will now seamlessly transition into a virtual platform and online campaign for its remaining duration.

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) – Romblon, in partnership with Romblon State University (RSU), successfully conducted the SPARK Safe Online: Cybersecurity Awareness Training and Digitalino sessions on June 6, 2026, at the College of Computing Multimedia Arts and Digital Innovation – CCMADI Building, RSU Main Campus.

The Cybersecurity Awareness Training, facilitated by Mr. Oliver Musca, equipped SPARK students with essential knowledge and practical skills to stay safe in the digital world. Participants learned about common cyber threats, data privacy, password security, phishing scams, multi-factor authentication, and other best practices for protecting their personal information and online accounts.

Meanwhile, the Digitalino session, led by Mr. Dennis Paguio, focused on strengthening digital literacy and promoting the responsible and effective use of technology. Students were encouraged to maximize digital tools and online platforms while practicing responsible digital citizenship in their academic and everyday activities.

These learning sessions reinforced the importance of cybersecurity awareness and digital literacy in today's technology-driven society. Through initiatives like these, DICT Romblon continues to empower the youth with the knowledge and skills needed to become informed, responsible, and resilient members of the digital community.

𝗘𝗚𝗢𝗩 𝗔𝗣𝗣 𝗢𝗥𝗜𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) – Romblon, in partnership with Romblon State University, conducted the eGov App Orientation on June 1, 2026, at the RSU Main Campus – College of Computing, Multimedia Arts and Digital Innovation (CCMADI Building).

As part of their ongoing SPARK training, participants were introduced to the eGov PH App, the country's unified digital government platform that provides convenient access to essential public services. The session covered the app's key features, including account registration, identity verification, and integrated government services, while emphasizing digital literacy, cybersecurity, and data privacy.

The orientation also highlighted how the eGov PH App supports participants in developing practical digital skills and responsible digital citizenship, preparing them to confidently navigate an increasingly technology-driven world. Through initiatives like this, DICT Romblon continues to promote digital inclusion and empower the youth with innovative tools for accessible and efficient public service.

On May 25, 2026, DICT Romblon successfully conducted a Philippine National Public Key Infrastructure (PNPKI) Orientation for the employees of LGU San Fernando through a hybrid setup, with participants attending both face-to-face and via Zoom.

The activity aimed to familiarize participants with the PNPKI system, highlighting its role in securing electronic transactions, enabling the use of digital certificates and electronic signatures, and promoting trust in digital government services. The orientation also emphasized the importance of cybersecurity and the adoption of secure digital practices in government operations.

Through this initiative, DICT Romblon continues to support the digital transformation efforts of local government units by equipping public servants with the knowledge and tools needed to deliver more secure, efficient, and reliable services to the public.

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) – Romblon successfully conducted the PNPKI Orientation and User’s Training on May 12, 2026, at Romblon National Institute of Technology. The activity was attended by teachers and staff to help them better understand secure digital transactions through the Philippine National Public Key Infrastructure (PNPKI).

During the training, participants learned the importance of PNPKI in keeping online communications secure and reliable. They were also guided on the proper use of digital certificates for secure document signing and safe access to online systems and services.

The session included step-by-step demonstrations and practical discussions to help participants become more familiar with the PNPKI system. The importance of cybersecurity and responsible online practices was also highlighted to help protect sensitive information.

This activity reflects DICT Romblon’s continued commitment to supporting institutions in adopting secure and reliable digital solutions and promoting efficient e-Government services.
