Hands-on Learning in Action! ⚙️🔥🔧

The BS Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering students under the AB Power Engineering course successfully conducted a Laboratory Activity on Internal Combustion Engines last March 24, 2026.

Facilitated by the subject instructor, Engr. Elbert Mores Garcia, the activity provided the students with valuable hands-on experience and practical knowledge in:
✅ Engine starting and basic operation
✅ Parts identification
✅ Firing order determination
✅ Preventive maintenance and troubleshooting

This laboratory activity strengthened the students’ technical competencies and bridged theoretical concepts with real-world engineering applications, preparing them to become skilled and industry-ready ABE professionals.

The department extends its sincere appreciation to Sir Raymundo M. Maming, LPT, for sharing his technical expertise and guidance, which greatly contributed to the success of the activity and enriched the learning experience of our BSABE students.

We are proud to share that the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) has officially granted a Certificate of Registration for the Utility Model titled “Algae Biofuel-Infused Firestarter Cube” under Registration No. 22024050648.

This product uses algae-based biofuel as a cleaner and safer way to start a fire. It is an eco-friendly option that helps support better and more sustainable energy use.

This achievement shows our strong support for innovation and care for the environment. The technology is now open for possible business partnerships and use by interested groups.

The 2nd Year BS Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering students of Romblon State University successfully completed Part 2 of their Metal Fabrication Laboratory Activity: Welding under the subject Materials and Processes for ABE, handled by Engr. Elbert Mores Garcia. This session further enhanced their hands-on skills in welding techniques, joint preparation, safety procedures, and proper equipment handling , strengthening their practical competencies in agricultural and biosystems engineering applications. 🚜👩‍🏭👷🏻‍♀️

The Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering participated in the Tipanan sa Inang Kalikasan (TSIK 2026) Clean-Up Drive, Tree Planting Activity, and CETSO Heartbeat Hours last February 13, 2026 😍💚❤️

A short program was held in front of the CET Building, where CET talents were showcased, highlighting the creativity of the college. Faculty members and students actively took part in cleaning classrooms and surrounding areas, as well as planting calamansi trees in support of environmental sustainability. 🌳🍀🌿

The PSABE-PPG also launched a Kiss Cam Booth, which became one of the highlights of the event, attracting more than 200 faculty members and students who happily captured fun and memorable moments together. 💋😘

To make the celebration even more meaningful, BSABE students expressed their appreciation to ABE faculty members by giving flowers, chocolates, and simple gifts as a gesture of gratitude, respect, and heartfelt recognition for their guidance and dedication. 💚💚💚

The International Relations Office of Romblon State University successfully organized and facilitated a virtual coordination meeting this January 24, 2026 with Dagam Farm, South Korea, in preparation for the International Comprehensive Learning Immersion Program 2026.

The meeting was attended by the CET - Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering Department and the CAFES – Agriculture Department, and focused on discussing the proposed student stay, planned learning activities, and their alignment with academic and program requirements.

This international initiative aims to provide BSABE and Agriculture students with valuable hands-on training, international exposure, and practical learning experiences in sustainable and smart farming practices.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the IRO, Dagam Farm, and all partner offices for their continued support and collaboration in making this international learning opportunity possible for our students. 💚💚💚
