In celebration of World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2026, the Department of Labor and Employment- MIMAROPA through Romblon Provincial Office, in collaboration with the Department of Health (DOH) and PhilHealth, convened a high-level session today for employers and employees in the private sector to address the evolving landscape of Occupational Safety and Health that include both physical and psychological well-being.

While we continue to prioritize physical standards, we are leaning heavily into the importance of mental health. By addressing stress and anxiety head-on, we aren't just preventing injuries—we’re fostering a more resilient, productive, and empowered workforce for the MIMAROPA region.

▪️Must be a legitimate dependent of an officer or a member of a DOLE-registered workers organization from the transport sector
▪️Must be incoming college or who has started college or TechVoc student
▪️Must not have previously availed of the WODP Scholarship;
▪️Must be willing to render service obligation at DOLE Provincial Office (40 hours/semester or maximum of 400 hours during the entire duration of the scholarship grant)
▪️Must maintain a general weighted average (GWA) of at least 80% or its equivalent
▪️Gross annual income of parent/member does not exceed Php 250,000.00

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) MIMAROPA, in coordination with PESO Santa Fe, successfully conducted a Technical Advisory Visit (TAV) to selected micro establishments in the municipality.
The activity aims to provide guidance and technical assistance to ensure compliance with labor standards and occupational safety and health, while strengthening partnerships with local businesses.
The activity was facilitated by Ms. Lorraine V. Mayor (Labor Employment Officer III) and Mr. Mark Oliver Maaño (Labor Employment Officer II), who served as resource persons, with support and coordination from PESO Santa Fe.
Together, we continue to promote a safe, fair, and productive working environment for all.

Our Technical and Advisory Visit is in full swing at the esteemed venue in San Agustin, Romblon. Today, we're empowering MSMEs' establishments from across the municipality with crucial insights on General Labor Standards (employee benefits!), Occupational Safety and Health (protecting against workplace hazards), our Productivity Toolbox, the holistic Family Welfare Program for healthy establishments, as well as Livelihood Assistance and the Adjustment Measures Program (AMP) to support businesses and workers during transitions. Plus, essential trainings for Safety Officers and First Aiders! It's a day dedicated to building safer, more productive, and employee-friendly workplaces.

We’re moving forward! Catch our next TAV Program in Sta. Fe, Romblon this coming April 16, 2026. Together, let’s grow, improve, and make Romblon the best place to work and thrive, one municipality at a time!
