Monitoring of production and marketing was conducted as our commitment to ensure that the livelihood assistance provided by the DENR - MBC and the LGU to our Dapdap Tribong Kababaihang Alangan will continuously flourish to make the association thrive further and stronger.

Biodiversity Friendly Enterprise (BDFE) beneficiary and potential beneficiary joins the nation in celebrating the National Arbor Day.

With grateful hearts for the opportunity of life and livelihood gifted by the environment and natural resources, our Mangyan Alangan BDFE partners with the mother IPO SASSAMA Chairperson Marconi Mambo, Sitio Ligwayan Pangkabuhayan Alangan Farmers and Sitio Dapap Tribong Kababaihan ng Alangan joined the tree planting activity at Carindan, Sitio Baclaran, Pinagturilan.

Through the leadership of Municipal Mayor Ernesto P. Torreliza, Vice Mayor Mark Francis Galsim and the Sangguniang Bayan members, a fruitful partnership was forged between LGU Santa Cruz and Blue Alliance Philippines.

The partnership aims to collaboratively manage the municipality's Marine Protected Areas including Talabasi Fish Sanctuary, Marine Turtle Nesting Site and the Casague Mangrove Reserve.

In order to craft tailor fitted programs, projects and activities, an Enforcement Threat Assessment was undertaken on June 23, 2026, participated by the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist, the MENRO, Santa Cruz Municipal Police Station, Brgys. Poblacion Uno, Casague and Lumangbayan, Municipal Fisheries and Aquatic Resource Management Council and Blue Alliance.

The sustainable management of our Marine Protected Area is crucial in dictating the state of our fisheries and environmental sector in the coming years wherein we positively seeks to close the gap between environmental conservation and economic growth.

Ang ginagawang kubo sa harap ng ating Mangrove Protected Area sa Aribugan River ay isang Temporary Ranger Post ng mga empleyado ng MENRO na nakatalaga doon.

Pinaaalalahanan din ang lahat na may regulasyon at limitasyon ang publiko sa paggamit ng nasabing Mangrove area alinsunod sa mga mahahalagang polisiyang nasasaad sa Municipal Ordinance No. 960, s. of 2017.

A Marine Turtle - Green Sea was reported dead today, 1:42 pm at Barangay Poblacion I.

The dead Pawikan was found by Ms. Shaira Faye Reyes, a resident of the said barangay, then immediately informed the Barangay Council thru Kagawad Hazel Ramos who reached out to this office for assistance and proper documentation and identification.

Poblacion I, Santa Cruz is one of the Barangays in the municipality that is known to be an active marine turtle nesting site, with records of yearly emergence and hatchings.

Happy Labor Day! 💚

A wounded juvenile Brahminy Kite or Lawin (Haliastur indus), saved and reported by Mr. Mario Fernandez II was rescued by the MENRO today, May 1, 2026 at Sitio Langa, Barangay Casague.

The wounded Lawin was then turned over to DENR temporary rescue center in Carindan, Pinagturilan for further care and hopefully for release after its recovery.

Thank you Sir Mario and family for bringing the wildlife to safety. God bless!

🌏🌱 Maligayang Araw ng Daigdig! 🌱🌏

Bilang pakikiisa sa Earth Day 2026, sama-sama tayong nagdiwang, nagtulungan, at nagsagawa ng clean-up drive sa kahabaan ng kalsada ng ating Marine Protected Area - Casague Mangrove Reserve na isa sa pinangangalagaang likas yaman subalit isa rin sa may pinaka mataas na vulnerablity at risk sa pagkasira.

Bukod dito, nagsagawa rin ang tanggapan ng Mangrove Monitoring upang masuri ang kalagayan at paglago ng mga itinanim nating bakawan. 🌿🌊

Ang aktibidad na ito ay hindi lamang tungkulin, kundi isang adhikain para sa mas luntian at sustenableng kinabukasan.
