Dili lang pagdawat sa makinarya ang katapusan sa usa ka proyekto. Importante usab nga kahibalo ang mga farmer-group sa hustong paggamit ug pag-atiman niini aron magamit nila kini sa dugay nga panahon.

Mao kini ang tumong sa Orientation and Maintenance Briefing on Agricultural Machineries nga gipahigayon karong adlawa, October 8, 2026, sa Conference Room sa DA-RFO 9 alang sa siyam ka SAAD farmer-groups nga nakadawat og corn sheller with dehusker, hammer mill, hand tractor, ug forage chopper ubos sa DA-SAAD Program Phase 2.

Mitambong sa kalihokan ang Si Nilo Farmers Association sa Tigbao, Pongapong Farmers Association sa San Pablo, Setio Duray Rural Improvement Club ug Rizal Farmers Association sa Sominot sa Zamboanga del Sur; Palalian Farmers Association ug New Calamba Farmers Association sa Kalawit, Marapong SAAD Farmers Association sa Jose Dalman, ug Tabon Integrated Farmers Association sa Sibutad sa Zamboanga del Norte; ug Israel Farmers Association sa Imelda, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Gipasiugda ang kalihokan ni Mr. Junrey Flores, SAAD Food Production and Livelihood (FPL) staff. Mitambong usab si Engr. Jeffrey Pepito gikan sa DA-Regional Agricultural Engineering Division (DA-RAED) aron mohatag og technical assistance ug suporta, ilabina sa hustong paggamit ug pag-atiman sa mga makinarya. Si Mr. Marlon Domingo, technical representative gikan sa supplier sa mga equipment, mitambong usab aron maghatag og mga pahimangno ug praktikal nga impormasyon sa mga partisipante.

Para sa mga farmer-group, ang makinarya usa ka dugang nga tabang aron mapagaan ang ilang trabaho sa uma. Apan kauban niini ang responsibilidad nga ampingan ug gamiton kini sa husto.
Mao usab kini ang gitan-aw sa Marapong SAAD Farmers Association nga nakadawat og hand tractor.

“Mapasalamaton mi sa DA-SAAD sa among nadawat nga hand tractor. Usahay, magtan-aw mi sa ubang association nga naa na sila ani, unya kami wala pa. Karon nga naa na mi, amo gyud ning ampingan ug tarungon ang paggamit,” matud sa presidente sa Marapong SAAD Farmers Association nga si Mr. Desiderio Adanza.

Pinaagi sa maong briefing, gihatagan og dugang kahibalo ang mga farmer-group dili lamang sa paggamit sa ilang nadawat nga makinarya, apan usab sa pag-atiman ug pagmintinar niini aron magamit ug mapuslan pa sa dugay nga panahon. #

How does SAAD track product value?

Monitoring doesn’t stop once products are harvested! SAAD also looks at how these products are handled, processed, and prepared for the market through two important records:

𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀 track how products are handled after harvest, their value and sales, and the factors that contribute to the livelihood project's success or challenges.

For beneficiary groups engaged in processing, these 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀 document how raw products are transformed into value-added goods. They help track product development and the steps taken to create marketable products.

Through these records, SAAD can better understand what happens beyond production - from postharvest handling to processing - and assess how these activities contribute to the livelihood project's performance.

𝐍𝐞𝐰𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 | 2 ZamPen poultry groups bank on reinvested earnings for CSO accreditation

Two (2) farmers’ associations that turned Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) assistance into savings, bigger flocks, and replacement chickens paid for by their own earnings now seek Civil Society Organization (CSO) accreditation, a step that could give them priority access to Department of Agriculture (DA) programs and support, starting with a hauling vehicle to deliver their eggs.

𝐍𝐞𝐰𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 | SAAD ZamPen cascades DevCom training to its field workforce

Listening closely, documenting carefully, and allowing enough time to edit: these are what it takes to tell a farmer's story well, as 14 personnel of the Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) Program in Zamboanga Peninsula (ZamPen) who work daily with farmer associations learned in a three-day Development Communication Training.

#𝗦𝗔𝗔𝗗𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 | Padayon ang Department of Agriculture – Special Area for Agricultural Development (DA-SAAD) Program Phase 2 sa pagpalig-on sa mga farmer-beneficiaries pinaagi sa mga training nga makatabang sa pagpadayon ug paglambo sa ilang mga organisasyon.

Gipahigayon sa Social Preparation and Program Management (SPPM) Sub-Unit ang Organizational Sustainability through Institutional Development Training niadtong Septiyembre 22–25, 2026, alang sa mga SAAD-assisted farmers’ organizations sa tulo ka lungsod sa Zamboanga del Sur.

Mitambong niini ang Nilo Farmers Association sa Tigbao, Cabaluran Banana Planters Association ug Lumponid Gardeners Association sa Midsalip, ug Lukuan Integrated Farmers Association sa Lakewood.

Gipunting sa training ang pagpalig-on sa pagdumala, pagpangulo, pagtinabangay sa mga miyembro, pagplano, ug pag-atiman sa mga proyekto ug resources sa organisasyon.

Dili lamang pagpatuman sa proyekto ang tumong sa DA-SAAD, kondili ang pag-andam usab sa mga farmer organizations nga makabarog sa kaugalingon, makahimo sa pagdumala sa ilang mga proyekto, ug makapadayon sa ilang mga kalihokan bisan human na ang suporta sa programa.

Paingon sa dugang nga capacitation, ipadayon ang pagpahigayon sa maong training alang sa uban pang mga farmer organizations sa Zamboanga del Sur, ingon man sa Zamboanga del Norte ug Zamboanga Sibugay. Pinaagi niini, mas daghang farmer groups ang matagaan og kahibalo ug mga pamaagi aron mapalig-on ang ilang organisasyon ug maandam sa pagpadayon sa ilang mga proyekto ug kalihokan sa umaabot. #

#𝗦𝗔𝗔𝗗𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 | Duha ka SAAD-assisted farmers’ associations sa Zamboanga del Norte ang miagi og ocular inspection niadtong Septiyembre 22, 2026, isip kabahin sa ilang assessment alang sa Civil Society Organization (CSO) accreditation.

Gikondak kini sa Department of Agriculture – Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Division (DA-PMED), pinaagi nila Monitoring and Evaluation staff, Mr. Matthew Gregorio ug Ms. Mary Jane Ventura, uban ni Mr. Angelo Espinosa sa DA-SAAD Marketing Assistance and Enterprise Development (MAED).

Ang 7M La Victoria Farmers Association sa La Libertad ug ang Makugihong Mag-uuma sa Poblacion sa Godod adunay lig-on nga kasinatian sa pagdumala sa layer chicken enterprises ug pagpadayon sa ilang operasyon gamit ang kaugalingong kita.

Ang 7M La Victoria FA, nga nakadawat sa Layer Chicken-Egg Production Project niadtong 2023, nakatigom og mga ₱1 milyon nga net income gikan Mayo 2023 hangtod Disyembre 2024 ug gigamit ang bahin sa ilang kita para sa replenishment sa 960 ka RTL.

Samtang, ang Makugihong Mag-uuma sa Poblacion nakapag-expand sa ilang poultry operation ngadto sa 47 ka modules sa ready-to-lay chickens, diin pito niini ang napalit gamit ang kaugalingong kita sa asosasyon.

Atol sa inspection, gi-validate sa assessment team ang mga dokumento, financial records, ug aktuwal nga operasyon sa mga asosasyon aron masuta ang ilang organizational ug financial capacity alang sa CSO accreditation.

Ang assessment alang sa accreditation nagasuporta usab sa paningkamot sa DA-SAAD Program Phase 2 nga mapalig-on ang mga farmer organizations ug maandam sila alang sa community-based enterprise (CBE) development, ingon man sa pagpalig-on sa ilang mga linkages sa mga ahensya sa gobyerno, merkado, ug uban pang potential partners. #
