🏳️‍🌈✨ The Sangguniang Kabataan Council of Barangay Dawis, New Lucena proudly extends its support and appreciation to Board Member Kap Amalia Debuque for spearheading meaningful initiatives in celebration of Pride Month—promoting inclusivity, equality, and empowerment for the LGBTQIA+ community.

We are also proud to share that our very own SK Treasurer, Mr. Francis Louie R. Brillantes, took part in this significant celebration, representing not only Barangay Dawis but also the voice of the youth and the LGBTQIA+ community.

As a council, we remain committed to supporting programs and advocacies that uphold dignity, respect, and equal opportunities for all.

The training gathered outstanding youth leaders from various organizations and communities across the country, providing a platform for learning, collaboration, and exchange of best practices in youth governance and leadership.

Throughout the program, participants enhanced their knowledge and skills in:

Mr. Brillantes' participation reflects the commitment of the youth sector of Barangay Dawis to continuously learn, grow, and bring innovative ideas and best practices back to the community. The knowledge and experiences gained from this national training will greatly contribute to strengthening youth programs, community development initiatives, and participatory governance in our barangay.

As representatives of the youth, we remain committed to empowering young people through leadership, service, and meaningful participation in nation-building.

𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗴𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗞𝗮𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘆 𝗗𝗮𝘄𝗶𝘀

The Sangguniang Kabataan Council of Barangay Dawis wishes to address the circulating concerns and public discussions regarding the conduct and organization of the ongoing Basketball League within our barangay.

Prior to the recent developments, the SK Council had already formally expressed and discussed during our regular sessions the intention to organize and conduct an official youth basketball league this month of May, as part of our continuing commitment to promote sportsmanship, youth engagement, camaraderie, and community development among the young people of our barangay.

As mandated under Republic Act No. 10742, otherwise known as the Sangguniang Kabataan Reform Act of 2015, the 𝗦𝗞 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗯𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘆. Furthermore, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗞 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹. In line with this mandate, youth-centered sports activities and programs naturally fall within the primary functions and responsibilities of the SK Council.

While we recognize and appreciate all efforts from various sectors and individuals who wish to support sports development in our community, we believe that 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗯𝗲 𝗼𝗯𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗴𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘆.

Unfortunately, our intended plans were overtaken by the earlier promotion of a basketball league initiated by the Barangay Council. To avoid potential conflicts, scheduling overlaps, and venue-related complications, the SK Council has made the difficult decision to discontinue its proposed league. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘆, 𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀.

At a time when the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are approaching, 𝘄𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗻 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝘃𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝘆 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀.

𝗪𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗳𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗞 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵.
