Corn Seeds and Fertilizer Release

As part of the 55th Araw ng Damulog celebration, the Municipal Agriculture Office facilitated the distribution of Dekalb corn seeds and complete fertilizer to qualified beneficiaries, supporting local corn farmers and strengthening corn production in the municipality. ๐ŸŒฝ

The Department of Agriculture โ€“ Regional Field Office X (DA-RFO X) provided the agricultural inputs and distributed them to accredited farmersโ€™ associations with members registered under the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA).

The activity was organized and facilitated by Agricultural Technologist/Corn Coordinator Patrick Lloyd T. Ang, with the support of the Municipal Agriculture Office, Local Government Unit, and partner agencies.

The activity was graced by the presence of Municipal Mayor Hon. Melino L. Buro, Municipal Vice Mayor Hon. Clinette P. Buro, and the SB Committee on Agriculture-Ronald Virtudazo, OIC/Municipal Agriculturist-Jesseber Jayseth Tapia, who continue to support programs aimed at improving the productivity and livelihood of our local farmers.

Also present was the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC), providing information on crop insurance and protection to help farmers manage agricultural risks and safeguard their crops and livelihood.

BMEG also joined the celebration by conducting a raffle for one piglet and showcasing its products to the community. ๐Ÿท

This activity reflects the strong partnership among DA-RFO X, the LGU, Municipal Agriculture Office, PCIC, BMEG, farmersโ€™ associations, and other stakeholders in supporting our farmers and promoting a more productive and resilient agricultural sector.

As part of the celebration of the 55th Araw ng Damulog, a Tilapia Fingerlings Release Activity was conducted to support local fish farmers and promote sustainable aquaculture in the municipality.

This initiative aims to strengthen the local fisheries sector, contribute to food security, and provide additional livelihood opportunities for our fisherfolk and fishpond operators.

The activity was organized and facilitated by the Municipal Agriculture Office through Agricultural Technologist/Fishery Coordinator Herberto L. Tan, with the support of the local government and partner agencies.

Blessing of the New Hatchery of SATIGA

The project was funded by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Regional Office 10 (BFAR-10) and is expected to support the production of quality tilapia fingerlings, strengthen local aquaculture, and create additional livelihood opportunities for the associationโ€™s members and the community.

The establishment of the hatchery reflects the continued commitment of BFAR-10 and its partners to promote sustainable fisheries development, improve tilapia production, and support the growth of the fisheries sector in the Municipality of Damulog.

House-to-house Rabies Vaccination Service

To promote responsible pet ownership and protect both animals and the community from the threat of rabies, the Municipal Agriculture Office of Damulog conducted a house-to-house rabies vaccination service in Barangay Pocopoco on July 21, 2026.

The activity provided free anti-rabies vaccination for cats and dogs, helping safeguard the health and welfare of pets while contributing to the municipality's goal of preventing rabies transmission and ensuring a safer community for all.

The activity was organized and facilitated by Livestock Coordinator/Agricultural Technologist Jeffrey D. Alcobella, with the invaluable support of the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) staff, whose collective efforts ensured the successful implementation of the vaccination campaign.

The Municipal Agriculture Office extends its sincere appreciation to all pet owners, residents, and the barangay Pocopoco council who participated in and supported this initiative in promoting a rabies-free and healthier Damulog.

Twenty (20) beneficiaries from the Sampagar Tilapia Growers Association received assistance from the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) through the distribution of one (1) bag of tilapia fingerlings and five (5) bags of fish feeds each.

The feed assistance will be released in three (3) phases, with every beneficiary receiving five (5) bags of feed per phase to provide continuous nutritional support and ensure the healthy growth of their tilapia stocks.

Following the distribution, the fingerlings were successfully stocked in the beneficiaries' fishponds. Representatives from the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC) were also present during the stocking activity to facilitate the automatic insurance coverage of the distributed fingerlings, providing added protection and security for the beneficiaries.

The activity was organized and facilitated by Fishery Coordinator/Agricultural Technologist Herberto L. Tan in coordination with BFAR and the Municipal Agriculture Office.

The Municipal Agriculture Office extends its sincere appreciation to BFAR and PCIC for their continued support in strengthening aquaculture development, enhancing fish production, and improving the livelihood of our local fisherfolk.

A progress report was conducted under the Farmer Scientist Training Program (FSTP) Phase III.

During the activity, participants presented and discussed the results of the germination count and thinning conducted in the demonstration area. Updates on crop establishment and field conditions were shared and evaluated.

The activity also included a group discussion among farmer-participants, allowing them to share observations, experiences, and recommendations regarding the implementation of FSTP Phase III.

Through the guidance of MAO OIC/Corn Coordinator Patrick Lloyd Ang and the active participation of the farmer-participants, the activity was successfully conducted, promoting continuous learning and knowledge sharing among farmers.

The Municipal Agriculture Office-Damulog under the High-Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP) conducted a one-day hands-on seminar on coconut products and by-products to coconut farmers in Barangay New Compostela, Damulog, Bukidnon. Emphasizing the utilization of mature coconut water (tubig sa lahing) and Coconut residue (sapal).

This aims to maximize agricultural resources and reduce waste, driving down production costs. These materials are also incredibly cost-effective and highly nutritious, transforming these byproduct discards into high-value functional foods, health beverages, and can also be used as animal feeds and organic fertilizers

The activity was conducted by HVCDP Coordinator/Agricultural Technologist-Jesseber Jayseth Tapia, assisted by the MAO Agricultural Technologist and staff.
