The Municipal Agriculture Office-Damulog conducted a house-to-house rabies vaccination service at BarangayNew Compostela, Damulog, Bukidnon. The activity was led by Municipal Livestock Coordinator/Agricultural Technologist, Jeffrey D. Alcobella, assisted by the Agricultural Technologists and the Agriculture Office Staff.

The activity aims to keep our homes and community rabies-free.

The Municipal Agriculture Office of Damulog, with the presence of the OIC/Municipal Agriculturist Patrick Lloyd T. Ang, Agricultural Technologists, and staff, awarded a Certificate of Completion to Macapari National High School intern John Carlo N. Gallentes.

Mr. Gallentes, a Grade 12 student under the Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) strand, successfully completed his 80-hour internship from January 27 to February 9, 2026.

The Municipal Agriculture Office extends its sincerest gratitude to Mr. Gallentes for his valuable contributions and wishes him success in the next chapter of his academic and professional journey.

House-to-house Rabies Vaccination Service

The Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) of Damulog conducted a Rabies Vaccination Activity in Barangay Sampagar as part of its efforts to promote animal health and public safety. The activity was led by Mr. Jeffrey Alcobella, Agricultural Technologist and Livestock Coordinator, with the support of the Committee on Agriculture, chaired by Hon. Ronald Virtudazo, the Sangguniang Bayan staff, and the MAO team.

This initiative highlights the LGU’s commitment to disease prevention and responsible pet ownership, aiming for a Rabies-Free Damulog, with the active participation of the Barangay Sampagar community.

Through the conduct of production monitoring under the Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) Program, beneficiaries received updated guidance on proper production management, good aquaculture practices, and strategies to enhance yield and sustainability.

The activity, led by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources–Kisolon in coordination with Municipal Fishery Coordinator/Agricultural Technologist Herberto L. Tan, reinforced continuous technical support and close monitoring to address on-site concerns of fisherfolk.

Through the strong collaboration between BFAR and the Local Government Unit, the initiative continues to empower fisherfolk communities toward improved productivity, resilient livelihoods, and sustainable fisheries development.

The Municipality of Damulog, Bukidnon has taken a proactive step toward addressing its water supply needs by holding a coordination meeting with the Project Support Office (PSO) Mindanao to fast-track the proposed "Construction of the Damulog Potable Water System".

The proposed project is expected to benefit around 3,130 households, aiming to improve access to safe and reliable potable water—an essential service that supports public health, livelihoods, and overall quality of life in the municipality.

Damulog Mayor Melino L. Buro personally joined the discussion with PSO Mindanao Deputy Project Director Carlene C. Collado, CPA, underscoring the local government’s commitment to pushing the project forward. The meeting focused on identifying the remaining documentary and technical requirements and finding ways to accelerate compliance to avoid delays.

Both parties emphasized collaboration and timely action as key to ensuring the project’s implementation. By clarifying requirements and aligning next steps, the meeting served as a problem-solving platform aimed at translating plans into concrete outcomes for the community.

Once completed, the Damulog Potable Water System is expected to significantly ease water access challenges in the area, reflecting the shared goal of the local government and PSO Mindanao to deliver sustainable and people-centered infrastructure projects.

The Municipal Agriculture Office of Damulog successfully conducted the Farmers Orientation on Corn Production on January 30, 2026, initiated by Municipal Mayor Hon. Melino L. Buro, through the dedicated efforts of Corn Coordinator/OIC Patrick Lloyd Ang, with the support of the Agricultural Technologists and MAO staff, in partnership with private agricultural companies and stakeholders. The activity featured informative and technical discussions from resource speakers including Joven Eta of Bioseed, John Brexter Tumbaga of Bayer/DEKALB, Eduard Valde of Leads Agri, and Jay Bryan Awayan of CB Andrew, together with the guest speaker, Engr. Renante Inocando, former Vice Mayor of Cabanglasan, who shared valuable insights and encouragement to the participating farmers.

Participants gained updated knowledge on improved corn production technologies, pest and disease management, and modern farming practices. Private partners further showed their support through raffles and giveaways, with additional raffle prizes sponsored by Goodfarms Corporation, adding excitement and assistance to the local farmers.

Through the strong collaboration between the LGU and the private sector, Damulog continues to empower its farmers toward increased productivity and sustainable agricultural development. 🌽🤝
