Representing Valencia, 𝗡𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗲 𝗬𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗡 𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝗢𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝗕𝗲𝗲 𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗺 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝗹𝗹𝗼𝗻 𝗝𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗚𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗮 𝗼𝗳 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘄𝗯𝗲𝘄𝘄𝘆 successfully showcased their innovative agricultural enterprises, entrepreneurial skills, creativity, and passion for the agriculture sector. Their outstanding performance earned them a coveted place in the Top 24, advancing them to the next stage of the competition—the Regional Pitching.

Their achievement reflects the growing potential of Valencia’s young people to become innovative and resilient entrepreneurs in agriculture. Through their ideas and enterprises, they demonstrate that agriculture is not only a livelihood but also a dynamic field where young people can create opportunities, build sustainable businesses, and contribute to local economic development.

Mayor Edgar Z. Teves, Jr., together with the Municipality of Valencia, commends Nichan Joie Yan and Ellon Jade Galera for bringing pride and honor to the municipality. Their success serves as an inspiration to other young Valencianons to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams and explore opportunities in agriculture and agribusiness.

WALANG GUTOM PROGRAM | Food Assistance Redemption for 175 Beneficiaries

The Municipality of Valencia continues to support the implementation of the Walang Gutom Program, a national government initiative aimed at addressing food insecurity and providing essential food assistance to qualified beneficiaries.

A total of 175 beneficiaries participated in the successful redemption of food assistance through the program, providing valuable support to families and individuals who are in need.

The activity was carried out through the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Regional Office and DSWD Local Office, in coordination with the Local Government Unit of Valencia, ensuring that the benefits of this national program reach the intended beneficiaries in the community.

The successful implementation of the program was made possible through the full support of Municipal Mayor Hon. Edgar Z. Teves, Jr., whose commitment to supporting national government programs reflects the Municipality’s dedication to promoting the welfare, food security, and well-being of its constituents.

The Municipality of Valencia remains committed to working hand in hand with national government agencies in bringing vital assistance and social protection programs closer to the people, ensuring that no family is left behind.

The Local School Board (LSB) of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Valencia, headed by Municipal Mayor Hon. Edgar Z. Teves, Jr., convened a meeting together with various stakeholders and representatives from different municipal offices and concerned sectors. The meeting provided an opportunity for the members to come together, discuss matters concerning the local education sector, and strengthen coordination among the concerned offices and stakeholders.
During the meeting, the participants discussed important concerns, programs, and initiatives aimed at improving the delivery of educational services in the municipality. The meeting also served as a venue for sharing updates, recommendations, and possible interventions to address the needs and concerns of learners, teachers, and schools. Through open discussion and collaboration, the stakeholders were able to identify areas where the LGU and its partner institutions could provide support.
The gathering highlighted the LGU Valencia’s continued commitment to supporting education and promoting the welfare of learners in the municipality. Under the leadership of Mayor Edgar Z. Teves, Jr., the Local School Board and its stakeholders continue to work together in developing programs and initiatives that will contribute to a better and more responsive educational system. Empowering Livelihoods Through the SLP Program

The Municipality of Valencia proudly witnessed the formal opening of the sari-sari store owned and managed by Ma’am Joan, a beneficiary of the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

The livelihood assistance provided through the SLP Program aims to help individuals and families establish sustainable sources of income and become more economically self-reliant. Through the establishment of her sari-sari store, Ma’am Joan now has an opportunity to strengthen her livelihood, support her family, and contribute to the economic activity within her community.

The opening of the store marks not only the beginning of a new small business but also a meaningful step toward self-sufficiency, financial independence, and improved quality of life. It demonstrates how government livelihood programs can create opportunities for beneficiaries to turn assistance into sustainable economic ventures.

The Municipality of Valencia, together with the DSWD and its partners, continues to support programs that empower individuals and families toward a more productive and resilient future.

Mayor Edgar Z. Teves, Jr. Recognized Among Top 5 Performing LCEs in Negros Oriental

The Municipality of Valencia proudly congratulates Hon. Edgar Z. Teves, Jr., Municipal Mayor, for being recognized among the Top 5 Performing Local Chief Executives in Negros Oriental for the 2nd Quarter of 2026 under the Governance and Participation Index – “Pulso ng Bayan.”

Based on an independent province-wide survey of 4,800 adult respondents, the recognition reflects the people’s assessment of local leadership in public service delivery, transparency and accountability, citizen participation, disaster preparedness, and infrastructure and social development.

This achievement reflects the trust and confidence of the people in Mayor Edgar Z. Teves, Jr.’s leadership and his continued commitment to responsive, transparent, accountable, and people-centered governance.

The Municipality of Valencia, through it's Municipal Agriculture Office successfully conducted a Neuter Activity for Dogs and Cats last August 19, 2026 at Barangay West Balabag, as part of the local government’s continuing efforts to promote responsible pet ownership, animal welfare, and proper population management of dogs and cats in the community.

The activity was conducted to provide accessible veterinary services to pet owners and help address the increasing population of unwanted and stray animals. Neutering is an important component of responsible pet ownership as it helps prevent unwanted pregnancies, reduces the number of animals that may eventually become strays, and contributes to better animal population management within the community.

Under the leadership and support of Municipal Mayor Edgar Z. Teves, Jr., the Municipality of Valencia continues to strengthen its veterinary and agricultural services by bringing essential government services closer to residents in different barangays. The conduct of community-based veterinary activities reflects the Municipality’s commitment to ensuring that pet owners, particularly those in areas with limited access to veterinary services, are given opportunities to have their animals properly cared for.

𝑩𝑭𝑷 𝑭𝑨𝑺𝑻 (𝑭𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕 𝑨𝒊𝒅 𝑺𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒊𝒄𝒆 𝑻𝒆𝒂𝒎) 𝑴𝒐𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒄𝒚𝒄𝒍𝒆 𝑼𝒏𝒊𝒕 𝑻𝒖𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒅 𝑶𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒐 𝑽𝒂𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒊𝒂 𝑭𝒊𝒓𝒆 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏

The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Valencia formally turned over a First Aid Service Team (FAST) Motorcycle Unit to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Valencia Fire Station, strengthening the municipality’s emergency response capabilities. The turnover was conducted under the leadership of FSSUPT Gerry G. Berte, Acting Regional Director of BFP–Negros Island Region, and FSINSP Syvil M. Ramirez-Toro, Municipal Fire Marshal of Valencia Fire Station.

The FAST Motorcycle Unit will provide BFP personnel with a faster and more flexible means of reaching emergency locations, particularly in areas where fire trucks may encounter difficulty due to narrow roads, traffic congestion, or other access limitations. It will serve as a support vehicle during the initial stages of emergency response, enabling personnel to reach affected areas promptly and provide immediate first-aid and emergency assistance when needed.

The turnover reflects the strong partnership between the LGU of Valencia and the BFP in promoting public safety, disaster preparedness, and effective emergency response. Through the provision of this additional resource, the LGU and BFP reaffirm their shared commitment to protecting lives and property and ensuring that emergency assistance reaches the people of Valencia in the fastest and most efficient manner possible.
