Natonin National High School conducted its Parentsโ€™ Day celebration on March 26, 2025, at the Tonglayan Open Gym with the theme โ€œEndless Gratitude: Beloved Guiding Parents.โ€

The activity was attended by parents, Grade 10 students, and school personnel. It featured a series of presentations highlighting the role of parents in the lives of learners.

Ptr. Fausto Layog delivered the Word of God, emphasizing the importance of obeying and honoring parents. An intermission number by Grade 10 students presented a skit about a young woman who, despite being raised with care and love, was influenced by negative peers and worldly practices. The story showed her parentsโ€™ persistence in praying for her until she eventually returned to them through Godโ€™s guidance.

Another touching part of the celebration was the tribute song dedicated to parents and teachers performed by the students. This was followed by the giving of tribute mugs as tokens of appreciation. Students were also given the opportunity to personally express their gratitude, thanking their parents for their sacrifices, guidance, and unwavering support.

Parent representatives also delivered short messages, sharing their reflections and appreciation for the schoolโ€™s efforts in strengthening family values among students.

The program formally concluded with closing remarks from School Head Ceriaco D. Laguiwed Jr., who acknowledged the collective efforts of the organizers, teachers, and other school personnels in making the event a success.

After the formal program, attendees shared a meal together called โ€œLanlannos,โ€ a Balangao term that means eating together, further strengthening the spirit of unity and community among families.

The Parentsโ€™ Day celebration served as a reminder of the vital role of parents in shaping the lives of their children and the importance of maintaining strong, faith-centered family relationships.

Grade 10 students of Natonin National High School participated in a recollection activity on March 5 as part of the schoolโ€™s five-day Career Week celebration.

The activity was led by Father Marcial Castaneda and aimed to give students time for reflection, learning the importance of prayer, fasting, and thanksgiving that plays an important role on the studentโ€™s life as they prepare for future academic and career decisions.

The activity was included in the Career Week program to help students not only explore possible career paths but also strengthen their values and sense of purpose.

Castaneda highlighted that we are all created in Godโ€™s image and likeness, and that we must listen with our hearts. He also emphasized the phrase โ€œto be and to become.โ€ โ€œTo becomeโ€ refers to oneโ€™s profession, while โ€œto beโ€ refers to the values and virtues instilled within a person. He encouraged the students to become professionals with morality and to allow the Holy Spirit to operate in their lives. In doing so, they make their lives a temple of God.

He also shared the 8 Gโ€™s: Gift, Gifted, Giver, Gratefulness, Generosity, Generate, Glory, and God, emphasizing that each student is a gift from God and is called to be grateful, share their blessings with others, and use their talents to bring glory to Him.

The students were tasked to write their timeline, identify the greatest challenges they met along the way, and share how they were able to overcome them.

As a concluding activity, students participated in the โ€œHuman Knotโ€ game, where they held each otherโ€™s hands in a tangled formation and worked together to untangle themselves and will soon return to the original position. The game encouraged teamwork, communication, and problem-solving among the students.

The activity was concluded with Sir Rayan Nayas-Sang expressing heartfelt gratitude to Father Castaneda for dedicating his time and making personal sacrifices to guide and inspire the students of Natonin NHS. He acknowledged Castanedaโ€™s efforts in leading the activities, sharing valuable lessons, and helping the students reflect on their goals, values, and future paths.

The recollection is one of several activities scheduled for the five-day Career Week at Natonin NHS, which aims to guide students in making informed decisions about their future careers while nurturing their personal and moral development.
