In celebration of Womenโs Month this year, LTO Naga chose to recognize women who are often forgotten, those who have been abandoned, taken for granted, or left behind by their own families. These women once contributed to society, a society that may no longer remember them today.
The group visited Villa Marillac, a home for elderly, as well as the Missionaries of the Poor. In one of the facilities they visited, they met a resident who was once a teacher for the blind,a powerful reminder of the meaningful lives they led and the impact they made.
The initiative also aimed to honor the caregivers, most of whom are women, whose quiet dedication brings comfort, dignity, and love to the residents they serve. Some of these women spent their lives raising children who are not even their own, loving them as if they were. Their efforts may not always be seen or celebrated, but they make a meaningful difference every single day.
The group visited Villa Marillac Home for the Elderly in Calauag, Naga City, where simple snacks were prepared and spent time listening to the residentsโ stories. Their joy was evident, and they were deeply touched by their warmth. Some of them even shared their talents by offering handcrafted bracelets, making the experience even more special.
The group likewise visited the Missionaries of the Poor, home to more than 28 female residents. During the visit, LTO Naga donated toiletries and hygiene kits to support their daily needs.
This Womenโs Month, may we continue to honor all women in society ,not only those in the spotlight, but especially those who have grown older, become frail, or are living with disabilities. Their sacrifices matter because in their own quiet ways, they have contributed just as much . May we never forget their worth, their stories, and the lives they have touched.
